Hi,

After reading many times the very interesting document written by Rey Johnson, A Festool MFT/TS55 retrospective, I'd like to give a try to his concept of storyboard with my MFT/3.

My problem: I can't find the the particular measuring tape he put in a thin groove and reads left-to-right and right-to-left. Looked at many online suppliers but can't find this. Any idea where I could find this kind of tape? (In Europe would be easier...)

thanks!

For a domestic (North America) source, try www.oregonrule.com    They make many stick-down Metric rules. It may have to be trimmed to fit the fence or track you have, but it is a plasticized sort of canvas material. Very stout.

Hi Extiger and Timtool,

Thanks for your replies!

@extiger: it's exactly what I was looking for (even if it's a different make than the one Rey Johnson used in his document). I learned on this site that the name of this particular measuring tape is "centering rules". They even have a fractional/metric model, nice.
I think I will order them next week.

@timtool: I keep the reference of Aximinster because the tapes you mentionned are not centering rules but I may need one of these adhesive tapes in another project as well. Good!

Hi,

Just for the record: the measuring tape used in Rey's PDF is from Incra. Unfortunately, this centered tape is not available in metric. Which let me the choice to switch to fractional notation or, rather, order one of the products from oregonrule.com, lol.

By the way, oregonrule has a metric/fractional model.
