I’m making mirror frame in oak. Long parts (stiles?) are 165 cm (5’4’), plank is bit bowed, say 3 mm (1/8 inch) in that length. There is not enough material to plane it straight.
Is there any chance to straighten that plank?
- maybe force it in other direction for few weeks and hope
- route a long recess and fill it with another part of that same plank (like inlay, but thick one)
- steam it and somehow put it straight
- ..
For me oak is a relatively costly option, hence the question.
