This is a straight line sander that is ideal for the final stages of flattening and polishing a finish to achieve mirror like quality. It was made by Stuhr Manufacturing of Rockford, IL, probably in the 1960s. The Stuhr line was bought by Cooper Tools and this model was rebranded as the Master Power MP600. I've owned it for 12 years and used it to get the highest sheen possible on large flat surfaces. It is ideal for conference or dining table tops, as well as solid surface work.

It is incredibly rugged and powerful, weighing 30 (Thirty!) pounds with two 3.5" by 9" felt pads that are driven pneumatically by horizontally-opposed pistons. The stroke is 1.5" and the speed is variable from zero to 1200 strokes/minute, controlled by a simple Binks toggle valve. It can be used dry, but it excels in wet applications with super-fine sandpaper (1/3 sheet), Scotchbrite, compounds, and/or polishes.

Price: $375

I will ship it by FedEx ground in a heavy cardboard box, reinforced and immobilized with plywood anchoring to prevent shipping damage. That would be damage to other packages around it because this thing is indestructible. Shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer, but I will only add whatever the actual charges come to, less than $25 to most Eastern US addresses, $35ish to the West.
