Let's see some photos. Looking for ideas for mine (12x20). I'll take some photos of the inside once this project is done and I can clean up a little.

[member=63113]Vartz04[/member]  - There's an old thread on my very-sub 250SF shop.

Got stalled this year, but with winter coming I hope to finish the ceiling and permanently install heat and some LED 2' by 4' light panels.

Look forward to seeing your shop take shape.

I've got a lot rolling in mine so far. Need to get on my computer and I can post the build.

I'll start reading your thread now

The build process. Some changes since the end but not really.

Nice setting.

You have 2X the SF I do so it may not be as big an issue for you, but in my case having double doors and a deck even with the shop floor lets me open up on nice days and wheel stuff outside either to us it here or just clear out space in the shop to work in. That would be my #1 recommendation.

#2 would be having a decent size area of the deck covered, something I am hoping to do myself soon.

Keep us posted on your progress.

I have a regular single garage door on one end but that's disabled. I'm going to put French type doors there. I have a 4'x20' porch in front of the shop. This area is covered and I have used it when doing a lot of miter saw work as that is the tool with the worst dust collection.

My workspace started as 10 X 12 shed, houses a drill press, band saw, and a smaller lathe but the transition to Festool and keeping everything modular and mobile is what really helps.  After about a year of working in the 120 SF shop, I added another 5X 9 section to the end of the work shop.  That extra 45 sf  really helped out, as now working  with a 4 X 8 sheet of plywood isn't so much of a juggling act.  My avatar shows the outside of my workshop.  The MFT tables, and CMS are ideal for me as can fold them down and move the out of the way if needed.  Spur shelving or adjustable shelving works out the best for  storing tools  and other items used less often.  I really take advantage of all the height in the space as well, storing clamps along the ceiling.  I still have an issue with horizontal surfaces as you can see in the photos and am still working on finding a way to have a space to set tools down out of the way when working a project but in the spirit of sharing, here are some photos.  Hopefully you see the four sides of the space.  A step ladder is my friend.
