suggestion for switches and pilot lights

Switches that can be locked on, like on the rotex sanders, should return to off when the power is removed to prevent a tool from accidentally starting when being plugged in.

Every tool should have a pilot light on it to show that is it live and connected to power. Additionally, there would be a pilot light on both the receptacle and the wall plug on the dust extractors.

Magnet start/stop switches is what bigger machinery has on it to prevent the tool from staying on after power is lost.  I agree more tools need a safety after a tool is unplugged and plugged back it.  I always double check my router before I plug it in!

Even an angle grinder style paddle switch would be better than the switch they currently use. But maybe they can keep the current switch to physically switch the power. To start the tool, there would be an easy to press switch where a double press would lock it on. The switch could be an enable to the speed control circuitry.

I thought of the lights when I realized that I and others were using the tools themselves to test if the power was on. It seems kind of silly and dangerous to be doing this.
