Hello all,
First post, been reading and I guess the ti15 will be discontinued in Dec. ?
I have the t15+3 and was thinking of getting the ti15 bare tool, (My Makita impact is dying)
should I hurry up and purchase or be scared off by its discontinuation?

thanks, Jason

I have one and the "threat" doesn't concern me ... consider if it's scope suits your needs. As a bare tool it's a great Systainer stuffer along with a C15/T15.

You guys get 30 days to decide - take advantage of it [wink]

I got the Ti15 basic just over a week or so ago, but wasnt able to use till last wednesday due having no batteries until the C15 arrived.
I have used it every day since.
so far i have only used it with 2/3/4 inch screws and seems on par with my 18v lxt impact.
I will at some point try to use both together side by side to check them both out.

But yes so far it does seem to be a good impact.  [smile]

I got a TI15 4.2 from the recon list. I actually enjoy using it. I have found it to be quieter than my other impact.

I wouldn't be scared off. Just because it isn't a money-maker (my assumption on why it is discontinued) doesn't mean it isn't a good tool.
That being said, I just got a chance to really try my recon Ti and it seems to torque out much sooner than I would have expected. I was using it to draw-clamp sections of fence together for repair and while it drove the fastener all the way, it didn't pull the pieces together as I'd hoped... I had to get my cheapy 18v Ryobi to finish the job. Anyone happen to know the torque rating for the Ti? I checked the website but couldn't find it.

Part of the Festool Service All-Inclusive commitment is that spare parts will be available for at least 10 years. So you shouldn't be worried about owning it from that perspective.

Of course the more worrisome concern is that they will come out with something better a month after they are discontinued. Festool has you covered on that front too as Shane has said that a new model is not on the way. :)

Thank you all for the replies, very helpful.
I think I'll try it out as it seems like it would be a pretty sweet set w/ the t15+3.

Hurry up and purchase. The TI 15 Basic and T15+3 is a great combination.  One Systainer to hold both tools, charger, 3 batteries and all of the FastFix chucks.
