Sure could have used a Kapex today...and an extra set of hands.

Have to run some rather large crown (about 10" point to point) around my cabinets to match the house crown.  I rarely ever cut crown on the flat (took me a while to figure the angle/bevel since trim guys weren't around).  As a result, I only have a double bevel dewalt, so its cut, turn piece around, change bevel, finish the cut since it wad too large for my saw...

The Kapex really would have helped today, but I just don't do much crown this large.

As far as needing an extra hand, I fashioned these extra hands to hold the crown up while I nailed it in.

If anyone wants to send me a Kapex, I'll gladly take it!

Fastcap makes a slick little clip to hold up crown for solo installs.  Like 5 bucks for a 4 pack.

I have also used my TS-55 and mft/3 to cut really wide crown before.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!  You just gave me inspiration for how to cut the 2 ft. piece of crown I'll have to install in a few months!!!  I'm at least going to try it [cool]

I know a guy who's cut large crown with a circ saw, seen him do it.  Crazy.

I tried it with my TS55, but didn't have an mft, so I gave up, I just couldn't make it work.

Darcy, do the fastcap crown clips work?  I don't know if they would be any help in cabinetry applications since the crown extends up beyond the nailer/facia so there wouldn't be anything to mount the clips to.
