Hi, was sad to find out that Festool dont sell this anymore, I always found the range fantastic, especially the indoor one, which always gave a really great finish to wood and was my go to product........

Anyone know why they stopped selling it, if you can still get it ( I imagine it was made for them and re branded?) and if not, what you guys would recommend as a good substitute....

Thanks

I did buy a small stash of the One-Step oil and consumables back when it went out. So far, sealed containers and the sponges (I keep both cool and not exposed to any light) are holding up great. Did quite a few doors and jambs with it, long after initially purchasing it. A tiny amount of leftover oil I had and that I did not transfer into a smaller bottle, thickened to an unusable consistency over the course of 2 years or so in the original container. That was a test balloon for me.

So if you get offers on sealed containers of new old stock, check carefully. One-Step might be easier in that regard than the HD.

As the Festool/Leinos offering is all I ever used, I can’t add much in terms of other brands offerings. However, I think even if you can’t get Leinos in the UK, I’m quite sure you can source a reliable & satisfying product locally as well.

Maybe try/ get in touch with manufacturers like Fiddes (https://fiddes.co.uk/ ), Blanchon (https://www.blanchon.co.uk/ ), Morrells (https://www.morrells.co.uk/products/wood-finishes/interior-wood-finishes/hand-finishing-products/ )

Kind regards,
