SYS 1.5 sortainer with 2 drawers..

Now that I have finally got my PDC 18 drill with a bunch of Centrotec bits including the Zobo 15-35 set and the HSS 3-10 sets, I wish I could have a half height dual drawer Sortainer for the Zobo and HSS sets in one drawer an square, mini level, and space for screws and so on in the other, this sortainer half the height of the SYS 3 sortainers and with two drawers I would connected underneath the PDC drill, and make a tidy easy to carry setup for almost any conceivalbe drilling task.. I'll probably end up getting a SYS-3 sort 4 but think that solution will be a bit bulky at least for my intended usage...

Maybe you could use two of these Tanos SYS 1 sortainers?
You can swap two small drawers with a larger one and if you wish replace all the blue latches with the Festool green ones.
I use one of these underneath my Protool PDC 18 SYS 2 with attic lid. This way I have a lot of space for all kind of bits & drills.

The separate large drawers from Tanos are also available from these shops (561212).

Okay thank you Neeleman, you just saved me the trouble of search.. which I must admit is getting a little time consuming...

Edit: I found what I was looking for but only in anthracite, so I think the search continues... Maybe I just go with SYS 3 Sort 4 as I think I'll need almost the whole large drawer for the HSS bits and the Forstner bits, a few additional spiral bits, a square, measuring tools and a small level maybe a lazer level? The smaller drawers on the upper level can hold screws and what not.

The SYS 1 Sort 4 would be great paired with a router for bits etc. So I just keep searching until I find one in light grey...

Festool/Tanos wizards I beseech you to make a Sys 2 Sortainer to pair with the PDC drill. The DC drills sets fit nicely in the Drills attic Systainer, the Zobo and HSS bit sets could fit well in a Sys 2 Sortainer with 2  larger drawers in the bottom and then you could use an addition 4 small drawers for screws.

Because all the other SYS 3-Sortainer are available in light grey.

I know that there is no Sys 2 sortainer I'm just requesting that there be one, it could have usual sized small drawers in the upperlevel, and the lower level a drawer that would be say 50mm high... What I think I'll end up doing though is to get the Sys 1 sortainer with four drawers for screws etc., and just use a Systainer classic 1 for the remainder of my drilling specific gear, like the Zobo bit set, the HSS drill set, the countersink, and additional larger bits.. What I like about the smaller sortainer and systainers is that they will pair handily with one T-Loc 2 or 3 tool systainer for an easy to carry setup..

If you are going to use two of the Sys-I height units  then you might as well use one Sys-III height unit and have a third row of drawers. The two Sys-I units will be the same total height as a Sys-III.

Thanks for your input I'll consider it. It had escaped me that 2 SYS 1's have the same height as the Sys 3 but it makes sense..

To get further with the problem there is this aspect to consider;  the Sortainers smaller drawers internal height is too low for most tools, The one big drawer is actually too deep, imo takes too much space, I want a depth of around 50- 60mm.

Last night I came up with a refinement of my idea to solve this problem which follows here:

Use a Systainer 1, and switch my PDC drills attic lid with it. This Systainer 1 with it's attic lid becomes a sort of super attic lid with space for all my centrotec bits, the three sets wood stone and bit assortment  that are in the Attic lid now, and the HSS set, and the Zobo centrotec set will live in  main part of the systainer , there may be space left over for measuring tape,square, mini level  and longer spiral bits etc.

Then the PDC Sys 2 will sit underneath the super attic lid.

On the bottom of this drill super stack I put a single row sortainer with four drawers for screws etc.

With this set you end up with a neat stack the height of a Systainer 5, but with easy access to all of the elements within.

In fact I'm warming more and more to having these tool specific stacks three of which = the size of a Systainer "15" would fit nicely on a Sys-Roll, two Sys-Rolls could hold 3 or 4 tools with their accessories/related tools, and consumables...and 2 or 3  Sys 5 for safety gear/extension cords etc. But break down into manageble sub sets that could be placed handily close to the work area..

At the worksite I'm thinking of using syscarts with the Systainer 5's on the bottom level  which would bring the Tools specific "stacks" up to a reasonable working height.. The Sys Rolls could be converted into workstations or used to cart materials around the job etc.

I think long and hard about organization possibities in order to maximize my space and make my work easier simplfy the process of getting out of the shop and out to the job and back again.. I think although it might seem like a bulky setup with the 3 element stacks they will be relativly light, and I will know that everthing I could possibly need for using each tool got brought along.. Also I don't want to end up buying a bunch of Sortainers or Systainers with out thinking things through very carefully as they are somewhat expensive.

I was able to get my C12 (older NiCd) into a Sys - I with attic. But I had to cut the bottom out of the insert in a couple places to make the items low enough. The Sys-I with attic I am using is a Classic. I don't know how well it would fit in a T-Loc.

Also you may want to consider putting the drill , charger , and batteries into a large drawer instead of a Systainer.

Oh I think you misunderstand me, I plan on keeping the drill in its provide T-Loc Sys 2 attic but trade it's lid for a normal lid from the Sys 1 where I'll keep the bit sets named in my signature in the attic lid, and the Centrotec Forstner and HSS bit set's in the main compartment of the Sys 1..

I think it might be a good trick to use the Sys 3 Sort 4 having the drill in the large drawer with it's batteries and chucks, then the screws in the top drawers.. But the Forstner bit's won't fit in the rather shallow 30mm high upper drawers, but still it's a good plan that might work well ...

Yup, I got what you were going for. Just tossing out an additional idea for the drill storage.

To make the drill and charger fit in a Sys - I with attic I cut the bottom out of the charger compartment, and out of the battery portion of the drill compartment in  the insert. That made them low enough to just get the lid shut. Also note this will only work with the NiCd / NmHd batteries. The LiOn batteries are wider and won't fit (when attached to the drill)  even with the belt clip removed. The LiOn batteries will fit in the large drawer (attached to drill) without belt clip.
