sys az in truck

now i know this question has been tossed around a bit but have we ever reached a definitive answer to why you can't use Sys AZ in a truck ?

It's probably because the drawers are not sturdy enough to withstand the forces that can occur while driving, which could make them fail eventually, and possibly damage the tools or the people in the car. They're probably also not very collision proof.

Alex is correct. From what I understand the Sys-az have not been impact tested for vehicles. The same with the Sysports. If used and an accident happens the insurance company may ask a few questions

Anytype of shelving will be questioned if there is an accident
reimbursement for costum home made racking is almost
Impossible
Tools damaged in an accident are blamed on driver
Reason for damages
Because they were not secured properly
They want to dewaliue tools to ridiculous value
So my conclusion is ,we are on our own
This is not festools fault , it is the time we live in
I wish we had a system (racking)which would take advantage
of the systainers and also meet insurance standards so our
Tools would be protected to the full value

Yes to a certain extend of my own experience
Tree fell on my van wile driving home
Van was totaled , luckily nobody hurt
I received a book value for the van
For the tools and shelving (Adrian Steel )  probably
20 cent on a dollar
I wasn't asking for new , just reasonable replacement
Had to proof that it was installed "professionally "by an
Authorized dealer
But my losses were mild compare to a trim carpenters loss
When he vas hit by uninsured pickup truck
For the shelfing (costum cabinets) he received $500
Just in drawer slides he had $1200 invested
For the tools he received maybe 30 cent on the dollar
but he lost most of his tools due to the fire that was caused by
The pickup
His losses were probably $25000 or more
That Sprinter setup was the  nicest I ever seen.  ( and his baby
and pride and joy)

I have a question
We're the sysports made to store , move and transport systainers
in the shop and to the jobsite
I am not looking to permanently mount it just transport it
from shop to jobsite to Jobsite
Are the durable enough

Tanos already do a racking system for systainers.

I don't really see an issue using the sysports or draw slides to transport tools etc, either way on a home made racking system any insurer will frown upto it?
