I just received the final set of drawers for my cabinet. Now all my Systainers are off the shop floor and no longer driving me crazy. It's fun banging your foot into a plastic box all the time.

It's really great to pull out the right tool, and not have to sort through a stacked set of Systainers for the right one. Really pleased with the drawers, and being able to build a custom cabinet that fits perfectly under my shop window is a big bonus.

Mike, I used joint compound to fill any defects in the wood since I used MDF and was going to paint it anyway. I then applied Sherwin-Williams primer for wood, and finished it with Sherwin-Williams oil enamel based paint.

Anyone have recommendations for a good hard, long lasting paint other than oil based enamel? I'm a complete novice, just having fun getting my shop setup and getting organized. Recommendations and constructive comments are always welcome!  [big grin]

You screw them in to the location you want. I put holes in every 32 mm using the LR32 system.

Oil or enamel is you best bet without a properly vented spray booth. Catalyzed finishes are the way to go if you do have a proper spray booth. If not they are highly combustible and completely illegal to use on sight.

Google Fine Paints Of Europe. Its the next best thing to actual catalyzed finishes. Get ready for the price tag though. And without question you must use their primer. Don't use their latex stuff. Its great for walls but their enamel is unreal!

It's hard to see from the photos but did you use the LR32 for 32mm holes that give you adjustments on the pull-out drawers?  And if so, how are you handling back-to-backs holes?

Really like the 3-up design with a top to unify them.

Yes, I used the LR32 system for the shelf holes. The instructions (if I remember correctly) have you plunge the router to 13mm. I was using 18mm plywood, so they're not all the way through. I also created 3 individual boxes, and just slapped them together.

You are correct, the sides and front are all just decorative face framing.
