I bought the SYS Combi 3 on a whim and at first I wasn't sure what to fit inside it but when I took out my OF1010 the other day I realized that the SYS Combi 3 would enable me to fit all the router bits/extras in the bottom tray:

This is SO much more convenient than the separate T-Locs I used to house them in.

Still have that LR32 in a  Sys T-Loc 1 separate though. I don't use it that often so it is no inconvenience.

That's really weird I only thought about doing this myself this morning. Great minds think alike :)

I was thinking more of filling the drawers with foam with holes in like the router cutter systainer has

Suh-weet! Maybe we'll get lucky and Festool will have some of the tools come in these in the future.  [smile]

Joiner1970: Great minds do think alike - haha - I am actually going to fit a foam insert but haven't decided on the layout just yet.
I am going to empty the Festool "Circtainer" and make an insert in the larger tray but I need to think the layout over so I can fit the misc items as well. Should not be a problem. There is plenty of room to spare.

Shane: Yep, I was thinking along the same lines and I can see how some tools would benefit from a Combi SYS.

That is a very useful idea, I am thinking about purchasing also the sys combi. I find the normal container already a bit too small.

Ok, it turned out I had some foam in the workshop so I got to it just now:

Apart from one odd bit that is a bit too tall to fit standing up I am happy with the layout. All bits in place with room to spare.
I don't have that many bits for the OF1010 as I keep most bits with my larger Bosch GMF1400 router. I did punch holes over the entire foam area so there is room for more bits. In the mean time I can fit the OF1010 manual + an extra sole and one of my hole routing jigs.

I am thinking about making the same arrangement for some other tools.

RL: regarding the new Sortainers I am not as thrilled. I think I prefer the older style Sortainer with the larger drawer on bottom and a few on top.  I have a few of them and I got a new Sortainer the other week but I have a hard time fitting stuff in it. It doesn't fit the bill for me. I bet someone will find it extremely useful - just not me.  The SYS Combi makes the sortainers much more useful with less fiddling around for small items while the Sortainers don't really fit larger items as well. The dividers are not as adjustable as I had hoped for.

I really liked the new Systainers and ordered one with the same intention of doing a combi of a machine with its supplies (in my case a Rotex 150), but made the stupide mistake of ordering a 2 instead of a 3.
That mistake will be resolved shortly, of course… : )

Are these only available from Tanos, or can they be purchased Festool? Are there any vendors on here that stock these yet?

I have both the Festool and Tanos (Dark Grey) versions of the SYS Combi 2 and 3.

I returned the Festool Sortainer and exchanged it for another SYS Combi 3. It fits my Bosch router and router bits in the tray with slightly different layout than above (larger bit tray layout).

It turned out that the foam I had on a shelf was perfect for fitting routerbits and easy to cut to size. I predrill with a 6mm (Dominocutter) and the hole fits 8mm shanks with the right resistance. Snug but not too tight.

I think both sizes are great additions. I would find a SYS Combi 4 useful too for a few machines I have.

I sold off five empty Systainers today after refitting stuff into four SYS Combi units. Shelf volume is the same more or less but things have never been this well organized...  [big grin]
