Sys-MFT design fault?

Today my CTL 26 cracked and I think it is probably a design fault. I was moderately pushing down on my Sys-MFT to saw a piece of wood when I heard someyhing crack. I wouldn't say excess force was used.

I found that the place where it had cracked was directly under one of the feet of the MFT-SYS.

Ideally the systainer feet should be much better supported - perhaps in line with the CTL supporting pillar. Or the load should be spread over a larger area.

You're not the only one, done exactly same thing ... same result... at least it's consistent!

Thanks for the heads up!

I'll be certain not to duplicate that.

Had the exact same thing.. The design fault is the hose garage on the ctl 26 tho.. It's design is from the classic sys age.. And the tloc systainers have different feet then classic sys' so old design problem i guess.. I hope they will update it like the mini and midi.. Festool NL send me a free replacement by the way.. So no biggie..

Yes you're right. I was thinking of making an insert to go on the CTL between the two feet so that the load is distributed over a wider area.

Quick update.

Spoke to service@ and mentioned the SYS-MFT / CT26 cracked edge ... it's as if they knew about it! New replacement top on the way :)

Now pondering how to stop the new one cracking. The mini/midi retro fit looks ideal and clearly designed to spread the load not concentrate it at the 'feet'

That's good. How did you make contact? I emailed customer services 10 days ago and am still waiting for a reply :-(

Delivered and replaced. Well done Festool service, successful despite the best (worst) efforts of the carrier. (Some chap called Oliver in Feltham must be staring at his lump of black and green plastic wondering what on earth it is!!!)
