Sys-Roll

Pete:  I guess you might have posted the reasons for your dis-satisfaction.
Could you give a quick reminder of the reasons...

Sure. The main problem for me was that, compared to a regular roll-board, this thing is huge - I work in mostly small Victorian houses that have a dogs-leg in the hallway at the foot of the stairs, and the Sys-Roll won't turn that corner without me moving furniture around; with a roll-board, I can just twizz it sideways and snake my way through.

Problem 2 - how do you lift it? It's rated at 100Kg, and my regular stack of systainers is ~60Kg, so to get it into the van common sense would be to tip it back on its big wheels and put a hand under the... where exactly? The only thing to grab hold of underneath is the underside of the drawer, which just doesn't feel robust enough to take the weight. Doing it the other way, with a 'dead’ lift from behind has always resulted in the systainer stack jumping off the base, as the strap really doesn't keep them secure.

There are some very nice design touches, like the material at the back of the uprights so you don't leave marks on stairs when you bump it up/down one stair at a time - but that's not something I've ever needed to do regularly, unlike getting my gear into and out of the van, which I can sometimes need to do many times a day.

In the end, it's a purely personal decision for me; I bought mine expecting it to make my life easier, and it really didn't - quite the opposite - so I simply stopped using it.

I am seriously more excited about this roll cart then i have been for something in a really long time.  [big grin] just about every day I take 3 minutes and poke around the online dealers seeing if its available for order yet. I wish we had a more exact date then Q1  [blink]

Sorry to say, but it's actually a less specific date. My ETA thread says "first half", not "first quarter". More information will be made public soon regarding an exact date of availability. Hang tight.

No need to scour dealer websites. I'm sure it will be posted about here by 3-4 dealers in multiple threads within minutes of them getting notified.  [big grin]

Thanks for the lead beneath my wings shane  [crying]

Pete:  Really appreciate your feedback - thank you.
Comments about maneuverability / size taken on board.  Obviously depends where it's being used, so for some never an issue.
The example given about lifting it is, for me, a deal breaker.  Also,  concerned it might not stand up (maybe over long period of time) to the stick my old metal sack-truck has had.  It follows that two people couldn't easily carry it, say, up some stairs.  Not designed for that sort of usage I guess.
Not being able to fold it up, is also a slight downer for me.

Like the idea of the drawer though - must be great for sandwiches, crisps, cans of beer, fags, Yorkie bars, small torches, pencils, note-books etc, etc; and, of course, less important things.

Can also imagine its use when wanting to present a really slick, full-on professional image when arriving for work in some places.
Richard.
