Syscart not holding newer systainers

I have 3 syscarts and roll my tools around on them for work for about a year. Now that I'm changing over to the new Tloc systainers, they aren't holding them well. I thought perhaps the green stretchy things were worn out and so replaced them, but the new Tlocs still don't stay in there.

Am I doing something wrong or ???

I found the same problem, even change the bungee bits as you did. But on closer inspection found that because of the molding difference on the bottom of the systainer, it doesent locate properly on the the syscart. So i ordered a new one that was soled as for the new t lock. No difference, so i sent it back. I was hoping tanos would have sorted this by know.

i haven't seen one in person so my suggestion may not work, but you could screw a square piece of panel on the drawer bottom just like Guide Henn did in his chaos theory videos. These should fit in the recess underneath the systainers and block them in place.

Tim, they're talking about  what festool calls here the "systainer-trolley"

Easiest sollution while waiting for a new version would be to keep an old-style sys1 attached to each cart.

/edit replaced the link, because the picture linked from the festool site didn't work anymore

If this is being caused by the T-Loc Sys. shifting around on the roll board, then maybe a couple "pins" (bolts  sticking through the bottom?) in the location of the corner post holes of the Sys , would keep them in place. Possibly positioned to accomodate the Classics also so that both types would still fit.

I have 3 trolleys.  I moved from traditional sustainers to T-locs and haven't had an issue. I only move them around my workspace though ... maybe my treatment isn't as challenging.

On my first and only T-Loc, I was grossly disappointed to see it doesn't integrate flawlessly with the stack of older systainers. To add insult to injury,  [jawdrop] several people here having to improvise bolts, plywood bases, and so forth to make the things fit on the dolly, given Festools' proclaimed excellence and corresponding accessory prices, is enough to raise second thoughts in buying.

Pictures say more then words.
But price went up also by 95%, for what reason?

Ok, guess I'm building my own, don't have time to wait for that to get to USA...

Better buying a sortainer then one of those trolls things.

Fix some plywood to the bottom of the sortainer with wheels attached to the plywood.  Be cheaper plus you have a storage compartment you can always get access to even when you stack a few systainers or t-locs on top.

Agree about the plywood on wheels. Really dont see the point in spending that much money on a bit of plastic with wheels

IT's worth noting that the Blickle castors on the Roll Board are very high quality and rated for in excess of 50KG and lock both travel and swivel.  I bought a set of relatively expensive castors to go on a tool cabinet recently and was appalled at the quality. Needless to say, I contacted Blickle for a proper set!  The roll board is very light weight, but strong.  Though I agree that the bungee straps aren't the best design and I'm glad they are updating it.  Haven't had a problem with any of mine tho.  Very handy things to have.

I think this is a example of desire for innovative design taking a backseat to a solid dependable system. I don't find the new T-loc systainers as good or solid as the old style. They certainly don't stay together as well or deal with lateral motion as well (like loading unloading etc. I have a broken nub (that the connector snaps on to. In years i've never had this but in my second new T-loc it has shown up. I'm glad i have most of my tools, i'm afraid that Festool/tooltec may become a victim of it's own success and drop quality and design to save money and improve profits. We will see.

I have a similar problem.  Just purchased a new Midi Vacuum and ETS 125 Sander and the Systainer for the sander does not register to the top of the Midi Vacuum allowing it to slide laterally.  It appears that the new Systainers lack registration pads on the bottom that I assume are supposed to mate to the 4 recesses in the top of the Midi?

I am a first time buyer and love how these tools function.  But disappointed at this.  Or am I missing something?

Thanks

I only have one of the t-locs (cxs) and it caused a problem I never had with the old style systainer.  I was packing up from my wine cab job a couple of weeks ago with my ts55 systainer on top of the midi.  I put the cxs on top of the ts55 and began to role the whole assembly to the van.  When I got to a step in the sidewalk I lifted everything to drop down and was left holding the cxs.  The vac and ts55 went flying to the ground.  In the 4 plus years that I've owned/used festools I've never had that happen before.  I can see the advantages of the t-locs but I'm not sure I trust them as much.

I can add that I have found that keeping the T-Loc's only with T-Loc's is the only way to go, they do not mixed well with the classic systainers at all
As far as the sys cart is concerned I added that piece of luan to the cart to keep the T-Loc's tighter to the cart and now have no issue.
I am hoping that Festool's newest cart solves this issue

I was hoping that that my new Sander Systainer not fitting my new MIDI vacuum was not a product problem and due to something I did not understand as a new Festool user.

However, it appears from all these posts it is a product problem. I did not expect this from Festool.  Nor should I accept it.

Unless I am missing something I think I will be returning my MIDI and Sander for a full refund.

Hi,

Welcome to the fOG!  [smile]

I just tried  a T-Loc on my Mini (same top as Midi) , definetly  a little bit of side to side movement but not much. At least not enough that I would give up on an excellent sander and vac.  It is an older design being mated with a new design.

Also you might find someone here on FOG willing to trade a Classic Sys for a T-Loc. If you go that route I suggest posting a want to trade Classified, that sort of  deal happens frequently here.  [wink]
