Systainer first aid box

Thinking that I'll wait until I burn through all of my dominoes from the systainer assortment, and buy a new box. It's cheaper than buying all the parts piecemeal, and then I'll have a divided systainer that's waiting to be re-labeled. Buy some red latches, and I'll be set.

At the risk of getting shot here (I love Festool as much as the rest of you).. why bother put a Festool lable on something that has nothing to do with Festool other than the systainer..? Isn't this a case of from over function?.. I can see the merit of the lables if one has worn of a box, but isn't think taking things a little far?

I have that same box, but found out the hard way that acetone dripping on it welds the handle to the box.  I think that I will use mine at home to hold my Festool First Aid kit.  Inside will be packages of green Koolaid for medicinal purposes. [big grin] [big grin]

Frank, I wasn't trying to take credit, I was genuinely pleased that you'd used it as you're something of a hero round these parts..!

Anyway, I agree, I see it as a silly bit of fun to make fun out of myself too...playing up to the 'addict on the green slope' stereotype!  Personally, I like function, and I like form. Why not combine the two? Is this any different from wearing a teeshirt with a Harley Davidson logo on it if you're a biker, or showing the logo of a football team you support? Unnecessary, silly probably, but fun nonetheless as a way of proclaiming your allegiance to something.  That's one of the reasons I enjoy Festool; when I use the tools it brings a sense of something more than just functionality to what could otherwise be tedious or tiresome.

I'd be really interested in other thoughts though, Matt's raised a great question here.

For the detail and care you put into documenting your projects, and the sort of projects you do...the grandchildren's play house pieces in particular. For what it's worth, your long account of creating your own workshop was one of the things that really got me into this game in the first place...quite inspirational.  [crying] see...I'm getting emotional!

Ah great.. I like the tongue and cheek nature!! I was just a little worried if it was for real!

Now for some other related tool porn.. check these little chappies out, a digital torque screwdriver, which has a slip clutch for when it get the required level

I have after a long search for the festool of  screwdrivers settled for PB Swiss Tools, and have some on order, so will be sure to post some pictures

We're veering off-topic, but:

You will not be disappointed.
In the business of making screwdrivers, they're more-or-less in their own league.

In the past 30+ years, I've had three PB screwdrivers fail on me, all user error ( one small slit screwdriver used as mini prybar, one bigger slitscrewdriver used as a chisel to "coerce" a big nut into submission, one for laziness, and using a big wrench on a way to small screwdriver in a carter drain plug, instead of crawling out from under the car and get the right size from the workbench. Two were cool reground and now serve a different purpose as a punch and an O-ring picking tool, one was forged in a hook shape and now serves me well as an exhaust suspension rubber extractor hook.

I've had numerous other screwdrivers fail, including high-end brands like Wera, Wiha, Hazet. I guess I'm not particularly kind on screwdrivers.....  [unsure]

PB makes some picking tools, mallets and punches and such and these are outstanding as well, but the screwdrivers are the real jewels.
