has anyone got any ideas or pictures of storing paslodes in a systainer. i have a first and second fix and am sick of the paslode cases not fitting properly on my rack when taking to site.

im newly converted to the festoon sustainer way so I'm learning as i go...

I can't wait to see the replays in this tread I am in the Same boat as you  I hate the paslode boxes

I hate those paslode. Pain to clean and the gas makes the pins dear as heck compared to the dewalt cordless pinner

I tried one of these a few years ago, in first fix form. It felt sluggish and couldn't match the work-rate of the Paslode gas nailers nor did it have the outright sinking power of the Palsode in more dense timbers.

Haven't tried the second fix version, but I suspect here the Dewalt will make more sense, given the slower, more methodical nature of the work and lesser brute force required.

both of mine have been great workhorses. they can be temperamental believe me, and the gas is rubbish in winter you have to buy winter gas. my friend has the dealt electric and it is pretty good in comparison. i think the next generation of electric will match the passed found for pound on power and be more cost effective.

I had problems with both the finishing and the framing guns. Cleaned them, nada, called Paslode and they said check the expiration date on the gas cylinders. Installed  fresh/new gas cylinders and they both fired right up.

I've had my Paslode 16 gauge nailer for about 5 years now. I beat the hell out of it and never clean itys and charge the battery once a month. I'm a complete dick to it and despite it's occasional fussiness, you learn it's sweet dulcet tones.

The best trick i've figured out is if it's being cranky, take the gas cartridge out, take the metering valve off, and press the canister tip on the floor three or four times. 90% of the time it's a mostly dead gas cartridge; if it's still farting after a few good squirts then it's likely something else.

I wish that my beloved paslode fit in a sys container (other than a sys 4... that's just a dumb waste of space.) I wonder it it fits in the bigboy sortainer drawer, since it's essentially a regular systainer footprint without heady thick sides.

I haven't used the first fix dewalt. I know joiner1970 on here has. I have the second fix one for ages now it's great.
Yep I've got one. Used it yesterday doing some fencing and made a small storage shed. Great guns far better than the paslodes for reliability, less noise and don't smell either lol

I have to agree with you joiner. I find my Dewalt nailer just fine. I've also just put a large shed up that involved using different length nails and it was great, particularly as it was cold. It works just as good as the Paslodes, in fact I'd say mush less mis-fires and no gas issues. I've worked just as fast as other chippies when they've been using their Paslodes on site. Mynonlyncriticism is that the belt hanger appears to have jammed, but I'm not that bothered as it doesn't affect the tools performance.

I recommend the Dewalt especially If you don't need a nailer every day or even every week.
I got fed up with the gas going out of date on the Paslode, plus the old Nicad batteries were past there best. So I took a bit of a punt on the Dewalt and haven't looked back. I don't get any more mis-fires with the Dewalt than I did with the Paslode, plus if I don't use the nailer for a month or so, it works straight out of the box no messing around.

The only thing my dewalt struggles slightly with are long ring shank nails. It won't always sink a 90mm ring shank, but then I'm not sure if a paslode would either

It does.

I have the Hitachi version (which to my knowledge has all the same inner workings supplied by Paslode, just a different casing) and it will sink a 90mm ring shank under the surface time after time.

forgot to mention, the Dewalt can take a bit of fine tuning if your using harder or old timber to get a guaranteed sink but it usually gets there.
I prefer this to the smell and hassle of gas.
I reckon that in a few years time and with a few other manufacturers coming out with non gas nailers, then gas will be a thing of the past.
