Systainer hard on the fingers

Maybe I must be a wimp because I haven't read about anyone suffering from the latches on the sustainers.  I've got em hooked together and man are the ends of my fingers sore from digging in there and prying them loose.  Any ideas other than just tough it out?

Just spray them with some silicon spray and they loosen up.

The problem is less with the latches than with the box. Where a latch is hard to open you'll find an excessive ridge of pastic at the edge of the depression that the latch tabs lock into. Just scrape the ridges down and it will work better.

Today I was using the TS 75 to cut three sheets of 3/4 melamine, (all at once)and I had the saw jumping A bit at the start of the plunge.
It was very controllable and not a problem.
This got me thinking, How could you really hurt yourself with a Festool?? I mean really, I would like to know how these tools could cause an injury.

Ok So lets hear it... What was your worst Festool related accedent?

The worst thing that happend to me while using a Festool was....

While cleaning/sanding the krud off the top of the MFT with a sanding block, my finger got cought in one of the holes!! Now, I was really moving! So you can imagine how sharp MDF can slice through anything in its path at that rate of travel :'( ouch! lost a pinch of skin off my middle finger.
Lesson learned.

This may sound bizzare, but flip the systainer 180 degrees, and grasp the edge of the lid and open them with your thumbs by pushing away from you.

I must agree they are difficult but they do become easier! I find just go for it just rip them off quickly they wont breake dont do it softly.

I've treated the latches, latch frames and catch areas liberally with ArmorAll.  It has improved the performance of the latches remarkably.

Did some of mine tonight, i just took a small file & gave the side of the casing the green catch goes into, a couple of rubs.  Works a treat & no need to keep applying lube every so often.  Carefull not to remove to much though.

Sorry I have carpenter hands, no idea what you are talking about.  ;D this seems to be an ongoing problem in the US. I think I heard festool is coming out with a special Sys lube for $19.95 a 4 oz. Bottle OAINA.

Maby by the time they get to Canada the latches are really broken in, I find they pop off like butter.  Then again the only muscle in my body is entirely concentrated in my forearms.

They are a little stiff if you pack stuff inside too tight, then simply pressing down on the lid while poping the latches helps.

Stand BEHIND the Systainer with your thumbs on the latch and your fore fingers to outside of the latch:

I rubbed some bees wax on the side tabs of the latches, made a big difference.
