So how many of you groaned or thought we have disussed this before?

I believe I may have found a solution to the problem of the labels falling off.

I was installing window isulation film a couple of weeks ago and toke note of the two side clear mounting tape. So I figured why not try it on the labels?

Today I had a chance to do so. It holds extremely well to both the label and systainer. Being clear, and with a clean label it has no effect on the look. If the label is dirty or you get dirty finger prints on the tape it does show.

A few things I learned in the process;

You can only get the label so clean, I used denatured alcohol, to clean both the label and the systainer.

I used a piece of counter laminate to work on, smooth clean surface.

Be certain the label is upside down, you want the tape on the back. (no I did not)

If the label is still adhered in some spots, remove it slowly to prevent curling.

I installed the tape longitudinally. The tape i used is 1/2" wide. The label is approximately 2 11/16", I started at the top ran 4 courses, skipped a space ran the bottom, placed a piece that over lapped the 2 lower pieces.

Run the tape about 1/4" long on the side you feel most comfortable starting from. This sticks it to the surface and makes the subsequent courses easier. When pressing the tape in place, start in the center of the run and work your way out. Avoid streching the tape and label. Once you get the release paper started do not cut through it. Start it only once. Pull the release paper back to past the finish edge, cut throug the tape 1/4" long of the label. Continue the process for the other 5 courses.

Once you have all of the courses in place, sight through the tape and cut the label free along its edge with a single edge razor blade or X-Acto knife.

Carefully align and place the label on the systainer. I started at the top center and pressed it in place from there. Again never start at an edge.

I am very impressed how well this holds on to the systainer. The falures appeared to be at the systainer not the label. Time will tell how this works out.

Now if I can get my bestest buddy Shane to send me new labels for my SYS-OF D8/D 12 SYS 1 and my 5" abrasives systainer.
