Systainer labels

Is there anywhere to get replacement labels for the Systainer?  Most of the Festool products I've picked up at Woodcraft have their UPC price sticker right on the Festool label.  And they're sometimes stubborn to remove.  Scraping them off I've torn one label, and using a solvent can release the Festool label as well.  Some have just come loose, accumulated a little sawdust and don't want to hold on anymore.

I'm willing to buy them, or would Festool Customer Service be able to help on this?

I have had the same problem with my labels.  I have purchased most of the Festool from Woodcraft as well. Most of the labels have just simply come off.  I have purchased TS55, TS75, Rotex 150, and 3-4 other sanders andmost of the labels have come off with 1 year.  The tools are enclosed in the back of my box van with nothing rubbing against them.  Its hard to believe Festool makes great tools but the labels all peal off then you get to gues whats inside them.

I lovingly rub my labels back on but they just keep peeling.  Now there is dirt behind them...what to do.  I think the labels are individual as they contain the SN of the tool so I doubt they can be replaced.  Anyone have ideas to regenerate/clean and keep the other labels from falling off?

That would work but why would you take a great product and deface it with a sharpie?  My handwriting is not to good as well as my spelling so it would look bad. I'm a neat freak my wife says (everything has its place and it should be in it if not being used) and it would drive me crazier than I already am.  Its bad enough the labels are not the way they should be the sharpie would defiantly not work in my case.  There has to be somewhere we can get new labels that stick to replace the original ones.  I would pay for replacement ones as well if the factory does not cover them.  I just would like to have the tools and boxes look as if they just left the factory again.

This subject has been raised many times before, and various solutions have been suggested from just using a marker (Sharpie), to using spray adhesive and then covering them with transparent tape. However replacement labels do not seem to be available from Festool.

I suggest you use the search engine to look for the word labels, and you'll get plenty of ideas. Here are a few of the many threads to start you off...

Sorry, its a fact of life with the labels.  You should move them in and out from the cold to heat and vice versa, my lables fall off in a couple months time.  Rain does wonders to them as well.

Buy a label maker or use a sharpie.  You can clean the sharpie off with laquer thinner if you need to.

Wood,

I know it may be a bit pricey, but I have a Brother P-Touch label maker.  I can make labels up to 1" thick and as long as the tape is in the cartridge.

The nice thing is that the tape comes in clear and some colors. You can also select print color, font size and style, etc.  It enables you to center, right or left justify.  You can also print various styles of outlines, shading and multiple lines of text on each label.  Sorry, but Festool green is not available.

It also has a memory so that you can save a given label and print it when you need it without having to redo from scratch.  The other thing is that it is very easy to use.

Good point.  I think that is true of the tool-containing Systainers.  I was actually just thinking of the storage ones (e.g. router bit case, dominos, cleaning kit, etc).

I think I might try to remove them on purpose and scan them.  Perhaps I can find a shade of paper that's the same as the Sys gray, and print some new ones.. Get 'em laminate and attach them with turner's tape.  Although one can easily scribble on them with a Sharpie, my handwriting leaves *a LOT* to be desired... heck, I cannot even read my own writing after about a week.

The nice 'feature' of the Systainer labels is the symbol quickly identifies the contents.  Easy to visually scan 'em.  I may start toying with latch colors to group boxes/kits together.

I also like the thin plexiglass "shield" riveted over the original.  Hrrm..  Thanks everyone.

I have had good luck with getting new stickers to stick to the Sytainers by first wiping the area with lacquer thinner.

Looking for 5 guinea pigs for an experiment.  Those sent PM's need not apply.  First five who post with the phrase "I would like to be a label pig" will get up to eight labels as an experiment at no cost to you.

I have ordered weather-proof polyester laser labels in an appropriate size for systainers.  I will color laser print up to 8 labels for each "pig".  Will work out details with first five.

I will not be trying to match Festool logo - illegal.  I will scan tools from the catalog and include them on the label.

Don't know if they will be better or worse.  Nothing to lose.

A sharpie is way easier.

Some people like to make things way more complicated than they need to be.

No pig here, just the big bad wolf.
