Systainers, Bosch L-Boxx, DeWalt ToughSystem, DeWalt TSTAK Boxes - Opinions . .

I have three of the Bosch L-Boxxes that my drill, impact driver, and jig saw came in.  In my experience, it was a mistake to mix the type of containers.  Now I have two different types of boxes that are incompatible - L-Boxx and systainers.  They are different sizes and will not stack.

So, if you already have Festool tools in systainers, I would stick with those.

I have my good tools in systainers. and my rougher / site tools in dewalt tough boxes. and some job specific tools in ordinary tool boxes. eventually these will get moved over to either systainers and tough boxes.

I planned on keeping systainers together and whatever I get next together as well.  Going with the Dewalt tough boxes for rougher conditions is an interesting decision procedure.

i keep all my dewalt tools in my tstaks. theyre well built and right now i left them outside for a decking job. all of my sys are garaged lol. i love the sys way more! i made the mistake of putting some of my yellow into the sys....i swear it looked ugly. it was like some kind of cross contamination with tools [big grin]

I like the systainers but don't feel they are suited for heavy duty job site abuse when doing framing, concrete, or outdoor work. We opted for the ToughSystem from Dewalt for these type duties/tools and the systainers for finish trim tools and obviously our Festool's. We have been very happy with that decision. Here is our van set up. We really liked the ability to hang the ToughSystem from brackets. This gives us the ability to remove one box without a drawer set up or moving an entire stack.

I have seven Systainers (soon to be nine), five l boxxes (two with small compartments) and one Toughsystem box. Absolutely love my boxes, they all have benefits. One of my boxxes is being used for storing all of my Festool clamps and dogs. I haven't decided on what I'm going to use the Toughsytem (small- which is actually pretty decent sized) but it is incredibly tough, similiar to the case I used for carrying night vision and other expensive stuff around for my day job.

I don't have the newer Systainers so I can't say about them.  I have the older ones.  The latches to latch them together are knuckle busters/fingernail breakers.  This is a problem for me since I play flamenco guitar and have my nails grown out. I use my knuckles now to take them apart but it hurts.

I have L-Boxxes too.  The latch-together mechanism is friendlier.  I don't think they are as tough as Systainers and the tops are in a flat plane, but they are larger and cheaper and they have handles on both the tops and the sides.  As an aftermarket thing, considering how spendy Systainers are, I'll take L-Boxxes.  I've bought them on ebay and on sale.    Bosch obviously doesn't do the set pricing thing Festool does.

The Dewalt's look great for carrying worm drive saws, multiple tools and things like that,  but they look pretty big and awkward for one tool  to a box.

I don't like L-boxxes at all.  It takes two hands to disconnect two that are stacked and the lid latches seem brittle and likely to break.  Let me know if anyone wants to buy mine.

I have a lots of systainers and a couple of lboxx
They both fine for my need
But I do like the Bosch folding hand truck much better than the festool

I like my Systainers for the Festools. I found  Dewalt has a locking/stackable box (http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-12-Compartment-Deep-Pro-Organizer-DWST14825/203367153)
That is great for screws and other misc stuff with removable/organize-able bins. I have bought about 5 of them and every time I am in the trailer I see a need for another one (Festool Dominos, Kreg screws lol). Much cheaper and more durable than the Festool version and has a clear lid so you can see if you are getting low on screws, trim nails etc. I use painters tape on the handle to label what is in the case.

Im getting ready to try the Dewalt TSAK system for plumbing, electrical and drill stuff. For other tools I am looking at the larger Dewalt DS system.

My only problem with the Festool sys is every time I need something it is the container on the bottom lol
