T-Minus 3 Days and Counting... What's on your shopping list for Oct 1st?

Mike,

As a moderator it would be wrong for me to steer you to one dealer versus another.  You have seen dealers here.  Send them a PM

Peter

Yeah that's a firestorm. I now where I would purchase it if I needed it overnight.  :)

The title says it all.

New products: C12, C15, T18, CT48, Centrotec Set, Zobo bits.

The sander promo: 10% off ETS 125, ETS 150, RO 90, RO 125, RO 150, Shinex and RAS 115 as well as related accessories and abrasives.

What's on your list and why?

I am thinking of getting the centrotec set, as I have the metric festool drill bits and the imperials would complement my arsenal.  I also like things to be organised- so having all I need in one systainer will save me time.

The shinex, because I have needed a good buffing tool for 20 yrs, and now I can afford one, why not get one of the best.  From input from others on FOG, looks like I may not get festool pads.  The 10% savings also sparked my interest!!

May also pick up a RAS 115- given the promotion and the dust collection issues- again it comes down to time for me, less time cleaning up, means more fest-toy time!!  I may even pick up a mini- vacuum because my CT 22 is trapped between my MFT and my basic CMS, and I need something to roll around easily, my 6.5 gallon shop vac may need to be retired. [:-);  I am assuming that the mini has enough power to handle the sanding needs with a RAS?

Was looking at the CXS, but not sure of its value without an eccentric chuck- which I find so useful on my T15.

WIll the impact driver ever come to USA, saw Shane write " no new products for 2012"!!  Shame! :o

Folks, calm down. There was a  [poke] behind my comment about no new tools in 2012. It was a joke. I was giving him a hard time and telling him not to save money for new tools but instead to spend it on stuff now. Sorry if anyone took it as anything other than a joke.

Please remember I have a thread pinned at the top of the "Festool Tools and Accessories" section of the forum with a list of tools and their ETA (to the best of my knowledge) for NA.

To quote from that thread:

DOMINO XL    Mid-2012
TI 15 Impact  Mid-2012
Sys-Lite        Mid-2012

And, there may be others... [wink]

Nothing! [scratch chin]

At least not on October 1st. I am trying to hold off until the Ottawa Woodworking Show. I'll get a chance to get my hands on some of the Festools that I have been virtually kicking the tires on. The very short list has an RO 90 plus abrasives. The current promo makes that a no brainer.

Beyond that I am tossing around the idea of a Centrotec set or perhaps a drill. The hype over these sets and the limited availability have me really considering these. I'm just not sure how much use I will get out of them. I am intrigued by the Centrotec so I am waiting to get my hands on one to see it if makes sense.

Some verrrrrry exciting items were used in training this week by yours truly.  2012 should be another barn burner of a year.

Just not sure if I missed something or not but what is the Sys-Lite?

A new led worklight.  18 watts.  180 light spread.  Internal battery.  Also accepts li-ion Festool batteries.  Vehicle charger.  Wall charger.  There have been several links posted.  Here is just one I found:  SysLite

I also want to get a Systainer for the RO90 abrasives.

I will be contacting uncle Bob (this guy is the best dealer out there) to order where can I find out more about the Zobo bits and the TI Impact ?

I have seen a small festool light mounted on a head band is this available here in the US?

Looking forward to attending the cabinet class in November.

Terry

Well went to woodcraft in Charlotte today and they did not have any of the new stuff. What's up with that?

I can just see Kreg frantically wandering the streets looking for his Festool fix. [tongue] [big grin]

So who's going to be the first to post their new Festool goodies?  Remember you'll need photo or video proof of purchase!
