Hi,

Bought a T15 early last month from my local festool dealer, just had a look at the batteries and noticed they are 2.6 ah???????

I thought they were supposed to be 3.0

Have I been conned?

This is the last time I use this dealer if I have. I had to ask for the free drill set that came with the set as they'd tried to snaffle it away.

Any ideas?

I don't see the screen shot but I looked on Festool uk earlier and it says 3.0ah batteries. How can this happen??

You have not been conned, but you do have older stock in your hands.

I also have a T15 with 2,6 Ah batteries. The T15 was originally introduced with 2,6 Ah batteries 4 years ago. They only upgraded them to 3,0 Ah batteries last year when they brought out the new model batteries with belt clip and charge indicator.

So though you have not been conned you do have a slightly older package in your hands. Festool made a couple of small upgrades to the T15 last year. They added a light to the drill and added a belt clip and level indicator to the batteries.

Personally, I'm happy with my older type T15 so for me it wouldn't be a big deal. But if you want a current model instead of older stock, that's perfectly understandable. If you're still in 30 days of purchase you can take the drill back to get your money back and buy the newer model. If this is not the case, you might want to contact Festool directly and tell them you feel you've been duped by receiving old stock from your dealer. They might work something out for you.

Just been out to check and I have made a slight error  [tongue] I bought a T15 and a cordless 18v carvex at the same time and it was the 18v battery that was in the T15 box and that's the one that is 2.6 ah.

Just tried to look on the Festool site to see if the 18v battery should be 3.0ah but the page won't load, typical  [mad]

Cheers JMB,

It was the video that you did for me ages ago that made me want the cordless carvex even more  [eek]

I have the old model also but I got mine when it was released in the UK   annoying they updated it!  So from now on I wont buy any new festool tools on release date! Very frustrating to loose out like dat!

It's a wise thing never to buy something right away when it's first released. Can save you a lot of money and frustration.

However, with the T15, it was 3 years before they updated it, the first models I believe were from 2008, and the update is from 2011. So there really wasn't anything wrong with the T15 to start with. Well, the jacobs chuck, I agree with you on that, that thing's bad.
