Hi everyone! I have a T18+3 drill that I bought new a few months ago, and I have noticed something rather peculiar when I try to switch from the low gear (1) to the high gear (2). When I move the switch to change gears, the switch sometimes (roughly 20% of the time) does not fully engage, or rather, does not move to its end position (see attached image). When I press on the trigger, however, the switch jumps into position, and I can use the drill normally. Is this something normal for this model of drill or should I contact Festool support?

Entirely normal. Almost every drill with a gearbox that I have ever used does that. It's just that they are not totally meshed together and some movement allows for proper engagement.

But it's Festool!
For the price of a drill, it shouldn't be.
Everything should be precise, tight and perfectly aligned.
Surprised that this is normal.

Think of it like a manual transmission in a vehicle without synchros.  If the gears aren't perfectly aligned when you change them, they'll need to slip into place to fully engage.
