t55req plunge saw cut doors in situ

Short answerer yes, if you want a nice big gap under the door. IMO, If you quickly remove the door first, then you'll get a really clean cut that will also keep the draft out.

Am i right in saying the req can be as tightas 12 mm .for flooring jobs this could be donebefore flooris laid .how could the rail be fixed to door

Its not something I would do. I guess you wouldn't use  the rail and run the saw along the floor to give the gap. Which will work I guess as long as the floor is leval and straight and with the door open at 90.  Its not something I would personally do. That's my guess on how it would be done

I've done this before but you will need the fs rapid clamps to fix the rail to the door. Also it can only be done before the carpets or floor finish go down . You couldn't do this above a finished floor as you would end up with a big gap under the door.

Used to run a flooring co years ago and cut down many doors, we had a door saw just for this purpose which you used after an uplift and before laying, never really liked it as you would follow the floor with it but for a trade that needed speed to make money it was a popular way of doing things, I always preferred taking them off but there were times when it was not possible or you would do damage that you were liable for so out came the door saw.

Yeah pre floor finish but taking off is better. Ive done it twice now in old schools where we couldnt get doors off but it does leave a 12mm gap reduced to 8mm ontop of thershold we used but still ilittle too big

Tried this before, definitely worth taking the door off first and then trimming it, gives a better finish and less awkward than if it was in situ.
