I am looking to add the wixey Digital Readout to my sawstop, and I found this image on the Wixey website. Anyone know what brand this fence is?

Yep, after searching it is a jointech smart fence.  It looked very heavy duty.

Thanks for the tip on the VerySuperCoolTools - I will check them out as well.

I don't know if it matters much, but as I was aligning my Sawstop fence with my miter slot, I found that it really isn't all that flat. The dial indicator shows the middle of my fence was .01 closer than both the beginning and end (looks like that is ~ 1/64 of an inch variance).

Yep, i recently got a Sawstop and found the same thing. If i wasn't concerned with super precision, is be happy with it. As it is though, I'm saving for the Incra TS Positioner. Check out the videos if you haven't already - very impressive.

It is easy to make a fence every bit as functional as that with 8020 extrusions.  I have a 42" -1545 (1.5" X 4.5" with slots that will accept Fest clamps) attached to my Biesmeyer which allows me to attach all sorts of hold downs and stops.

Wow, that fence extrusion is a beast  [eek]

If you're interested in an extruded fence, check out Very Super Cool Tools. I have one and absolutely love it.

Thanks for the info on the Very Super Cool Tools fence.  I have a Sawstop PCS and suffer from the same issues with the fence as have been mentioned here so this gave me the push to do something about it.  Unfortunately that was more difficult than I would have thought.  I have a 3hp PCS with 30" capacity to the right of the blade.  I have a small shop and I needed to go with the smaller capacity for the saw to fit.  This isn't an issue for me as I always use my TS75 in my garage to cut sheet goods anyway.

What I discovered is that the Sawstop 30" fence rails are non-standard.  Instead of the standard 2" x 3" Biesemeyer rail the Sawstop rail is on 1 9/16" square and the Very Super Cool Tools Fence won't work.  I contacted Sawstop and they don't sell the larger rails separately; they only sell them with another one of their fences [sad]

The folks at Very Super Cool Tools were very helpful through this process.  They pointed me to a set of rails sold by Grizzly that is currently on closeout for $115.  So what could have been as simple as swapping one fence for another has now turned into a real project as I'm sure the new fence rails will have to be drilled to fit the mounting holes on the Sawstop.

So, if you are in the market for a Sawstop be aware that the 30" capacity fence system is non-standard and if you want to upgrade your fence in the future you are going to have to replace the rails to use a fence from another manufacturer.

I have the Sawstop Industrial and set it up with the Woodpeckers dial caliper set-up tool. I saw some minor variation along the length of the fence. I think the variation is from the plastic surface on the fence.

Whatever the cause, the variation has never affected my work which requires extreme precision.

Withe industrial saw you would have their better T-Glide Fence. Unfortunately with 30"rails I have their lower end "premium" fence

[member=18233]jbasen[/member] Since you're going with the Grizzly rails did you go with the adjustable throat T-Square? I put mine on a Grizzly and those rails aren't a true 2" by 3" either. The adjustable T-Square works perfectly.

I had one of those Jointech fences.  It was very, very solid.  It took a bit to get it dialed in but once done, it's accuracy was excellent.  The original owner used to work for Incra.  Once he died, his general manager bought the company and promptly ran it into the ground.  His customer service skills were zero.  Too bad as the product was really good.  I don't know why the american manufacturers don't build a euro stye fence where you can remove the fence and turn it along it's axis 90 deg to be either 4" tall or .75".  They will also slide parallel to the blade so you can slide the fence down to where it's only half way across the blade.  Completely eliminates any kickback.

I have the Saw Stop PCS with 36" capacity to the right of the blade.  Great saw, but their fence isn't quite up to the standard of the rest of their saw  ???.  My fence has a "hump" in the mid point of the length and when I put a straight edge against the fence to determine how much of an issue this fence is, I found that by pushing on one end of the straight edge, the other end move away from the fence a full 1/16"!!!!!! [crying]
I called Saw Stop and they told me that the fix was for me to shim each end of the detachable fence faces until the "hump" is  eliminated!!!! :(
Oh, by the way if you are using any fence or miter gauge fence made of aluminum, and your moving saw blade touches it, you will get a personal demonstration of the blade stopping and dropping below the table.  Impressive to say the least, but the demo will cost you $69 to replace the cartridge and if you can salvage the saw blade, then add the cost of a new blade, which for me was $99 for a Ridge TS2000. [eek]
