Table Widener - 493139 Discontinued

I just found out that the table widener for the 1010 router has been discontinued (U.S.A.). 
Is there going to be a replacement or is there just no demand for it here?

I really like the long base on the MFK 700 and wanted that on my 1010 for certain applications where it will help stabilize it.

What makes you think it's discontinued?

It's still on our website and not annotated as discontinued. I don't recall it being discontinued, but I have to admit my brain is reaching it's limit of Festool facts.  [blink]

I just got an email from Tool Nut telling me it has been discontinued and refunded the amount for it.

Hmm, well it's certainly looks like that is true. I just checked our system. It is marked discontinued and out of stock. I don't know of a replacement for it. You may check with some of the other dealers represented here on the forum to see if any of them have it in stock.

If all else fails, there's always the option of using the guide rail adapter with the two rods. I used that method the other day on my 1400...completely rendered my table widener useless!  I think Peter Halle had posted a video or photo of it a few months ago!

Bob, thanks for posting about that. I almost linked over to a blog article I posted several years ago demonstrating that technique with the OF 1400. I wanted to test with the 1010 before sharing it. But, since you mentioned it...

Ace Tool shows this item in stock.  Just ordered one.

I found one online and ordered it...and as luck would have it, I was at another dealer today and saw one sitting on the shelf.  These can be found with a little searching, but it is a bummer that it is being discontinued.
