I just got word that one of the Festool folks is going to be a Tanos rep! This should mean that the entire line will become available in the future right here in N.A. Great news for all of us that continually try to decipher all of the foreign websites searching out our organizer heaven.

More to follow as this develops.

I will be on the lookout for this.

I hope that whoever is doing this will ship to Canada.  And, if they will ship to Canada, I hope that they will agree to use the regular postal service rather than one those couriers such as UPS and FedEx who rip us off by applying ludicrous border crossing administrative fees.

HI,

Too good to be true!  I guess I will hold off on that Kofferfun shop order a bit.

Excellent news. It's about time!

I'm getting really sick of those stoopit tool bags.........time to go and figure out my first order!

I'm excited! As much as I enjoy making Systainer inserts, it's not a terribly profitable use of my time  :-[

I'm especially interested in the Caulking inserts, as well at the Systainer "riser" that allows you to increase the height of your systainers.

OK folks,

Here's the latest info I have. Franck is taking on the task of bringing Tanos to these shores. I understand that nothing is warehoused at this time, so there will be a delay in getting product. I'm gathering that there will be a website set up soon. In the meantime, Franck said that's he's happy to take questions. He can be reached at:

To my mind, the most useful products we haven't been able to get here are:
  • The Sortainer with 2 large drawers, a medium, and 2 small ones.
  • The inserts that make the Mini Systainers actually good for something.
  • Colorful latches.
  • The Maxi Systainer that is not as deep as the one we have here.  I think it would work well for a Sawzall or small rotohammer.
  • The deeper Mini Systainer.
.
Tom, I have the angle grinder insert.  I think any 4-1/2 inch grinder would fit.

2 concerns:
  • Will the hanging folder frame accommodate US Letter-size folders?  If not, it's not hard to make a frame.
  • Will the cartridge carrier accommodate our sealant/caulking tubes?

Ned

Hi,

So this seems like it might really happen and not toooo far off?   Not just a pipe dream?  It would be great to be able to get  one  or  two plus  accessories  at a time instead of having to plan out a whole bunch of stuff to make an order worth the shipping.

Oh great! Yet another route down the road to bankruptcy.

Don't count your chickens, when it comes to Tanos or Festool I would wait until the items were in the US and on hand.

I would love to believe it, but I am skeptical. Building up the inventory and making a web site and getting all the ducks in a row, it could be Christmas by the time this happens, if ever.

I hope I am wrong, time will tell.

HI,

But I don't want chickens or ducks >:(

And it would definitely be (like) Christmas  if it happens  ;D

I know I'll want some of the organizers that fit under a Systainer's lid.  And, like Ned, want some of those Sortainers with the 2 large drawers -- at least two; one for my TS saw stuff and another for my CT accessories.

Looking at my current 4-drawer units I see that it probably could easily be converted into one with 2 large drawers with the addition of 2 more side pieces, a shelf and, of course, another large drawer.  So, I'll attempt to order the parts -- if unavailable, I could turn two of my 4-drawer units into one with the 2 large drawers with a Sortainer top and bottom left over.  Oh, and some extra drawers too -- better to just get the real McCoy to not have too many leftover parts.

what is the link to look at the tanos stuff, I googled it and nothing came up  thank you

No, Seth, I plan on doing it the American way. I'll wait until I get every Festool item I want charged on my credit cards, and THEN file for bankruptcy.  :D
