Doing glue-up for the back of my Systainer carcass And wondered if there is a size/spacing formula?

7/8” Kiln Dried Walnut
58” wide
Approx 4”-6” wide pieces(7pcs)

I used 8x40 tenons and placed them at 4” from each end a 2 more(4 total ) approx 17”( equidistant) apart.

Is this adequate

I'd set them about 11" to 12" apart. 6" to 12" apart is the general guideline.

My preference: Narrow width setting for one side (the end-grain edge), narrow on the first one (for alignment) and then the rest medium wide setting for the mating side (face grain).

At he ends I tend to use the default distance defined by the pins (or paddles, depending on which Mark DF500 you own). Anything around a foot wide will get one more domino (in the middle). Taller/longer than that, about every 4 or 5 inches (I wanted to say 15 cm… but hey!)

Is there a good video detailing this.

There goes my glue first then ask questions theory

I’ve got it glued in 3 sections now( 2pcs, 2pcs & 3pcs) so I’ll add some additional before doing the final glue up.

If your stock is well machined and well behaved, I think you have plenty. Dominoes do not add strength to an edge-to-edge joint, they just make it a bit easier to align the faces. If the faces are aligned...you've got enough Dominoes.
