The HKC and the joy of a new blade

I've been using the HKC a lot the last couple weeks for a framing job, and after struggling through a handful of beveled rafter cuts, started wondering what life with regular Plug-It HK would look like instead. Maybe there's some power gains I'm leaving on the table by sticking with the battery version.

Then I put a new blade on and oh my... it's smooth and silky as ever. Slices right through the biggest of bevels with ease. Doesn't even feel like I'm cutting, just cruises right on through the cut.

It's funny, the degradation of a blade is often sooooo slow, it's really easy to forget what a saw feels like with a sharp one. I feel so dumb for even wondering if I should switch to the Plug-It version when all it needed was a sharper blade.

Ya, it happens to all of us. The chisel...the plane...heck even the common kitchen knife, they all lose their sharpness slowly and we become numb to it until it becomes an ah hah moment.

Another anecdote to this situation is just thoroughly cleaning the saw blade, that's another ah hah moment.
