As much as I would like to be the only one entering this months contest.... I'm thinking that everyone should enter.
I'm not seeing that Shane's post is getting that many views.

Shane posted at the end of the April Enter to win a RO 125 + CT 26 package! the following.

About the May sweepstake that you can win a Win a Festool T12+3 Cordless Drill Set (564247) and SYS 1 Box!

He states  - Just go to our sweepstakes website to enter to win. It's super easy. See rules for complete details.

http://www.festoolsweepstakes.com/

Be sure to provide the extra information on the entry confirmation page to double your odds of winning.

Come back every month for a new chance to win other prizes.

Okay if I win it was not because of this post...LOL

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks, but why get more people signing up? I wanted to be the only entrant. There goes the idea that I will win this one... [big grin]

I'm still waiting for the notification that I won the April sweepstakes......lol

Bob, the winner was recently posted on the sweepstakes website. Sorry, I meant to post it here as well.

Steve, thanks for the thread and encouraging participation.  [smile]

What are you guys going on about, I entered the May contest days ago!

Would have preferred a C15, but I guess that needs to wait for the June contest  ;D

Greg, the winner has been selected and notified. They have 14 days to respond to the notification email. Once they respond, the winner will be posted. If they don't respond in the 14 day window, they forfeit the prize.

So, if you didn't get an email from me...  [sad]

More than I got...

I already have a TS55, and no more room for another CT right now, so I probably can't afford to win... I think I'll leave this one for someone who can use it.

Since I have never really won anything, I was wondering... what are the tax implications of winning the sweepstakes?  Is Uncle Sam going to ask for a fraction of the Domino?

Great Question .....but a bit of buz kill.... [eek]

The Tax laws are in constant movement. I'm interested to know the current answer to your question.  Regardless of the tax liability will be less than buying it yourself.  I'm also sure a person could decide not to accept if things are a bit tight...and in the current construction market... that is understandable. You might even be able to give to charity and get a nice right off. (hint - form your own charity now!!  [scratch chin])

Cheers,
Steve.

Simple answer - Unless Festool obtains your SSN and issues a 1099-MISC, it's the honor system.  You are responsible for declaring the retail value of your prize as ordinary income on your federal (and possibly state) tax return.

Section 7 of the rules:

All federal, state, and other tax liabilities arising from this Sweepstakes are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. A Form 1099 will be sent to U.S. winners.
