The OFFICIAL recon tools THANK YOU thread! (please pile on)

Guys, there's no question that in retrospect this could have been administered in a better way. We're fully aware of the deficiencies and for that reason we'll never do this again! ......... Ah, just kidding, I have no idea if we'll do it again. But, if we do, there are already discussions taking place to fix the oversights in the way the program was administered.

I'll extend my thanks to the dealers and customers who waited patiently (some more so than others) while we sorted through the monumental pile of orders. My hope is that the majority of you got the tool(s) that you ordered and found them to be a great value.

Our goal is for every Festool customer to have a superlative experience when they do business with us. We may have failed this time. We're not perfect, but we've learned from this experience for sure.

So is all the inventory gone?  The website still shows many things in stock.

Oh come on Shane!
There is no way that Festool "failed" with this. There was a limited amount of tools offered up and we all knew that we might not receive what we requested. So we whined a little! So we picked on you a little! It's all good.  [big grin]

Now, cough up my MFT800!!!!!   [poke]

Seems like it would have been a heck of a lot smarter to simply sell and fill the orders right from the Festool USA website.  Doing it through the dealers was what made it a never-know situation.

Fullfill it through the web site, have real-time inventory listings for each item and where's the confusion?

I'm not thanking anyone because by having the sale, you guys temporarily dropped the market right out of used Festool tool prices.  Have a planer I was just about to sell - thanks alot!

JT

Shane knows darn well that they failed from an organizational standpoint and is smart enough to  admit that.

I bet in 6 years when they collect enough tools to do this again if Shane  has any say it will be a lot more organized. Take a month once you decide on having the sale and get it together. Crap, 50% of the dealers knew nothing about this and some still don't!

I do thank Shane. I thank him for the acknowledgment this was like all hell breaking  loose and I think the dealers would say the same. Taking responsibility is worthy of thanks, this sale was mayhem and how anyone can say it wasn't is incredible to me.

I got the CT26,  no apparent wear. Thanks Bob and everyone at Festool that kept this mysterious enough that it felt like Christmas morning when the box arrived.

Maybe this is the place to begin a conspiracy.  If we collectively start buying and returning unused tools under the 30 day policy, we could restock the reconditioned inventory pretty quickly with good stuff....  [big grin]

Ha!!!!

I like your thinking....

So... got a nice router in the mail today (OF 2200) - which was honestly a bit of a surprise to me.  Now, I just went and checked a tracking email I got, and I thought that it was for something else that I had ordered - oopsie.  I didn't realize "hey, what's the availability of this 20% off goodie?" meant "order me one of these".  Hah, as much as I want to be put off by this, I think I'll just not tell the boss about the extra $640 on the credit card :)

Oh, and the router (and systainer) looks entirely untouched... absolutely beautiful.  But now I'm gonna have to find money for the base kit.
'
So... thanks? :P

Just received a reconditioned 10% off MFT800 Basic 10 minutes ago. Hauled it out to the shop and opened it. I think someone screwed up as it is BRAND NEW! I mean not a scuff mark anywhere. I don't think it was ever removed from the box due to the packing materials. The outer box had been opened before and resealed. Sure wish I had ordered a couple more of these! Going to be primarily used now as a clamping station for Dominoing and such. This style MFT is sure more rigid than my MFT/3 with the support arms.
Thank you Bob and Festool!

wow a whole new set of aluminum rails just waiting for a sharp saw blade  [poke]. Enjoy your new toy tool.

but festool should be congatulated for managing to sell customer returns for retail -20% [thumbs up]

And a variety of sellers on eBay for selling (or at least trying to sell) Festool tools / accessories for more than they cost retail -- amazing how often I see this lately...

Thanks Tim! (what a buddy)
Just not sure what exactly you are referring to!!!!!   [eek] [big grin]
Think I will keep my TS55 off this table.

A big Thank You to all of the Festool staff and Bob Marino. The MFT table looks brand new and the RAS is incredible! I feel very fortunate and I appreciate you guys very much!

Some of the UK festool dealers do charge more than retail when selling on ebay I think its done to cover the extra costs/risks involved.

Hey I am thrilled that we got in on this.  And I'm glad that not every dealer in the whole country knew about it - increased my odds of getting the tools I was after  [big grin]

And thanks to Uncle Bob for his original post that made me aware of this sale.

No doubt, the crazy weather caused a lot of disorganization problems, but I still got a sander and MFT800 and am thrilled.  Last year at the router class I attended we asked about recon tools and were told that they pretty much are never sold.  So I am stoked to get in on this "impossible event".
