Here's some pics of the first kitchen cabinets I have fixed using Space Plugs. . . . .I recommend that you buy a 10 pack of each size. I would be absolutely gobsmacked if you don't have a Space Plug epiphany and become fully converted. You too will soon be telling all your work colleagues of all the innovative uses you have found for them.

Space Plug Online Shop

They look good but they look even better if you buy from Folkstone Fittings - a lot cheaper than the above link and free shipping.
Gonna be cheap else where than from manufacturer

Just one extra point worth noting, the Premium 200mm x 6mm masonary drill bits are the best I have ever used.....!!!!!!! I think they are Austrian made IIRC.

No hammer drill necessary, and they drill practically everything, including the back of the cabinet.

Super quality!!!!!

Tim.

Have you tried one of those drill bits Dean?

The "Big Orange Man" was sending them out with the Space plugs initially, and some of the guys were just throwing them in the bin without even trying them...... [eek]

Yeah i used my sample bit after you said on kff, they do look like junk to be fair but preform really well

Just to clear up a couple of things;

Drill bits: the 10 packs come with a cheap & cheerful masonry bit, not great but gets the job done. The really nice multi-purpose bit is included in the 50 packs.

ForgeFix: joiner1970 asked who they were - they're a hardware/fixings distributor that stocks Space-Plugs. FFX buy space-plugs (and presumably a lot of other stuff too) from them, and they've just listed ForgeFix as the manufacturer by mistake.

Used my space plug samples today at last lol

I was putting a mopstick handrail up into my loft and the wall it was going onto was battened and insulated then boarded and skimmed.  If I had  put any forward planning into it I would have put sections of plywood behind the boards where the brackets go ,but hey ho I didn't . So this left me with a right pain trying to get a solid fixing. Scratched my head then remembered I had some space plugs. I drilled 3 x 6mm holes through the plasterboard into the wall and tapped in some rawlplugs. Then drilled a 30mm hole dead centre for the space plug . Pushed the space plug in and wound it out just a touch past the surface. Then fit 3 long screws into the wall and tighten carefully in turn until the bracket is solid against the space plug.

To be honest I didn't think this would work but it did and feels very solid.

Excellent - I did try and show that concept in the video.

Oops - This is different now I look more closely. As I said, excellent idea.

I would've taken a few pics like a WIP but I was too busy getting it done. Hopefully people can get the idea of how to do it from the description.

Slightly cheaper than toolstation where I've been buying them. Ffx were selling them but I haven't checked if they still are.

Screwfix have dropped the price of the 50 packs to £23.99  for the XL and £21.99 for the regular.

It would great if any FOG users could leave a review on the Screwfix website. There are a few of us on here from another forum who have got to know the inventor over the last few years and we all agree that he is one of the nicest most down to earth guys you will ever meet.

So if you have a spare 5 minutes and like Space Plugs, why not leave a review on the link above.

Yes, Cliff is a great guy and he has a brilliant product.

Watch this space !! Things will happen !!
