Does this picture help you any? The perspective is off a bit, but the tail measure reads 130, like the Fastcap beside it says. The will also give you some perspective of the body length. This is a 3 meter version.

The popularity of the 6m version is far greater than I predicted... I was thinking the 3m would be the big draw so I brought in twice as many of them as either the 2m or 6m. Oops!

I only have two 6m versions left. I am ordering more but it will take a little while, (likely a couple of weeks or so), to get them.

If you feel a need for one now, they are going pretty fast.

I used a 3m in a real project for the first time last night. 'Very slick.

We've got a local that offers the 6m's, but nothing else. Cost is about the same.

Any indication of what a 6+3+2+mini T-Loc would set me back + international to OZ ?

I'm sure there's a bunch of NA NA people that'd do a kit like this!

It'd be even cooler if the kit had the folding rule in it [smile]

I tried both the 3m and 6m ones at my local hardware store and ended up purchasing the 3m one mainly because of its more pocketable size. I've been a happy camper with mine for now and it is solid.

I think the main features for this tape measure are the inside measure pin and the marking tip on it and I don't see many uses for either at lengths over 3m (or 60cm+ for that matter). Takes a bit getting used to do marking with the tape measure itself and not a pencil held against one.

A super-duper combo would be to combine these with some nice Incra precision rulers and maybe a small Starrett Combination or 13A try square in a mini systainer ;-)

I got a 3m and the XL hammer and wow that hammer is nice. The tape measure is really well built and it seems really nice, compared to my other tapes " mostly stanley or fast cap.

The only thing i don't like about the 3m is there is no belt clip, but I think I will get over it rather quickly.

I got a 6 m and a 3 m one. My Festool tape works great but I just had to re-trim two rooms and had to switch back to imperial for the long runs. With a 6 m tape that would not have been the case. I suspect this is why the 6m are going fast.

I am going to have to recalibrate my Kapex wings to the new tapes if they don't match up to the Festool one. This was my first big trim job since I got my Kapex and UG stand was amaze how fast it went. Measure once with the Festool tape, then use the UG stands measuring stops and cut. I would say a 15-20% increase in productivity. When I use the imperial tape I had to transfer measurements a real pain.

Yes, I'd jump at a well configured metric Incra (or maybe Woodpecker) set in a mini ... or perhaps a more significant offering in a Sys.

I know it's not their core line, but if Festool released a range of measure, square, markup, etc tools of a similar quality to Woodpeckers or Incra (but obviously finished in a Festool green anodised aluminium) I think they'd sell a healthy number!

Got my 6m today. Man this thing is solid!

It will take some getting used to, but I can tell already that I will be getting the smaller 3m soon.

For those worried about the locking mechanism moving... Ain't going to happen. I pulled and pushed and the thing is a beast!!

The foot is razor thin. I measured a few things within my caliper range and they are within the .3mm range. Pretty damn good for a 6m tape.

Found a small pack of the beasts running a muck on my front porch last night when I got home. I corralled them to my work bench for further inspection today.

I already have a 3M so I'm already sold on them. Like pencils, you can't have too many tapes, especially good ones! I want to see of the clip on the 6M is more important or the convienance of the small size of the 3M to me.

I have two of the 3m left, no more 6m, and a bunch of the 2m.

After I posted about a shortage of 6m, the 3m started being the choice and now they're almost gone.

I'll put in another order this weekend and hopefully this time, things will go more smoothly... Hultafors was reasonably responsive. The Meterex team is really slow. They still haven't shipped.

I also have several of the replacement tapes and tail extenders (for inside measurements).

Yes, these marking tape measures can be repaired by the owner and I have the repair parts.

I'll get some more of the 6m & 3m soon, I hope.
