The TALMETERS are BACK!

hey Tom,
Laying some laminate flooring down today and finally got to put that Talmeter 6m you sent me to use.  The transfer and scribing functions work great--saving a few steps from the last time I did this without it.  The Talmeter and my Kapex are making this little task go pretty fast- letting me spend more time to FOG around!

I just picked up a FestTool # 495415  combo 3m/10ft tape this morning here in NJ at a local dealer. It also has the tail that sticks out the back to do inside  measurements and a pencil hole in the tape for doing circles. Do the 'Talmeters' work the same way?

I also ordered a few Milwaukee - 5m/16' Magnetic Tape Measures # 48-22-5216 last week from ToolNut. I love the other Milwaukee tapes I have now. They using a type of nylon blade protection and have a reinforced frame.

On the Festool part #495415, the tail is for arcs, not inside measurements.

For inside measurements, you use the back of the body and read the measurement in the window on top of the body.

Thanks Tom. Good thing I asked.

Fortunately had you used the arc pin rod for inside measurements, you would have cut your piece too long... rarely are we a benefactor of that kind of mistake :)

I hear "it's too long" all the time!  Oh wait, wrong forum...

:D

Instant Rim Shot

LOL !    I just had my 3 dogs sitting next to me tilting their heads every time I clicked the button !      I must have clicked the button 20 times!

I know……one of those moments when you had to be there.  But it was funny for me!

The TALMETER 3M & TALMETER 6M are back!

I got a package today from Hultafors and they are back in stock!

I also added a different version of the 3M, the TALMETER 3M VP, which has the linear and diameter marking both on the front side of the tape.

Tom

Received my 6m a couple days ago…….Much better for me then the 3m.

I have some big hands and the 3m was just a bit to small.  But the 6m is a beast!  This will fit my big mitts a lot better.

I've said it before and I'll say it again……Thanks Tom for stocking them,  they are the best metric tape measures I've seen and used.  [cool]

OH and the Meterex folding rule is the cats meow!!    [wink]

Eric

I did not realize that Tom had the Meterex folding rulers yet?

Use the Talmeter 3M today on a small project. Real liked the inside measuring feature. very handy. Plus the scale is easier to read the the Fastcap tape measures.

I don't mind shooting them out to you, Greg. They're both pretty cool in their own ways.

I've designed a lot of very complex stuff and I would have combined them. They're screaming to be one... Anyone who has both knows exactly what I mean.

Ok just the one. I have a flexible goose neck flashlight that does the same thing.
I will go to your site and order.

Finally getting use to the Talmeter marking blades and it is truly the best system to transfer dimension. No more messing around with pencils and the line it leaves is perfect for laying down the guide rail. The 6 m is very welcome addition for trim work and deck work. Now I am nearly 100% metric.

Thank you Tom for bringing them in.

Bruce

Tom,
Are you planning on getting any more of the Hultafors line, like the the knives, chisels, etc? How about any of their subsidiary lines, like Snickers? I don't think Snickers has a US distributer.

I've certainly considered it, Lee. I'm about to relocate operations to a roomier facility and can entertain a lot of things I can't now. I like the looks of some of their other products. I'm thinking about bringing some of them in for the Fall...
