Thinking of Getting Wera Screwdrivers

Funny, those Craftsman screwdrivers get beat on and they're still around, but the Wera drivers you're afraid to even give them a love tap least they fall apart.

Maybe the Craftsman isn't that bad after all, it can be used as a chisel or paint can opener, AND a screwdriver. :-)

I have Craftsman screwdrivers I bought in 1975 and they're still good. I have one somewhere that my Dad bought (maybe before I was born in 56), the handle is translucent yellow with Craftsman blue paint, and it's still going.

[member=1619]SRSemenza[/member] you got me looking.  I thought you were joking but Wera actually makes chisel drivers.

I went into a Sears store (I think the only one remaining one in our area with a population of 1.2 million or so) on Saturday.  Went straight to the tool department and it was depressing.  It may have had 3 percent of the product that they once had and those who were working there looked (understandably in my mind) like they were just counting the hours until they got off work or the store closed.

At least Stanley (owner of the Craftsman brand) is pumping products into Lowe's stores.  One day I will locate all of the screwdrivers that were purchased on sale during the holidays when the huge assortment was on sale and see how many complete sets I can put together.

Hah! Yeah, no joke.  900 series. Through the handle shaft with striking cap.  The yellow ones are chisel drivers. I have one for slotted screws 125mm blade length and 6.5 mm width. Dedicated for all the prying , poking, what ever tasks. Helps keep the rest in good shape for screw turning. The fact that you can hammer it without fear of the handle breaking is good.
