Question: Why do so many YouTubers keep trying to pick up the offcuts with their hand while the blade is running or still coasting down? [eek]

I once did this and my far more experienced and wise coworker said "no need to rush, we're paid by the hour." Beyond the obvious, that it's not worth seriously injuring yourself over anything that you're working on, he meant that it's hard to be a productive employee if you're constantly risking injury...or having to replace a SawStop cartridge.

Perhaps some YouTubers, who often seem to be hobbyists, haven't had the chance to learn from others and are a little more cavalier than they should be?

They do videos for the accolades and fun-rush.  Not the type of personality that lends itself to slow and steady.  There are a few (injury critical) professionals, like circus performers and surgeons, though that happen to be youtubers but their videos tend to be more educational than chasing the latest instagram/pinterest trend.

They're also not the type to stay in the youtube game for long because once they're done teaching, they're done posting.
