Threads (Came out of the baseplate on Domino 700 when Angle Stop was removed)

Has anyone had an issue with the thread coils (Heli Coil) coming out of the base plate on a Domino 700?  (Where angle stop attaches to the baseplate) When I removed the angle stop the threads came out of the baseplate still attached to the angle stop knob.  Looking for ideas on how to replace the thread without having to tap new threads in the baseplate.  (Picture of the threads that came out)  (No longer under Festool Warranty)

Can you post a picture of the baseplate showing where this came out of?  I looked at both knobs on my own DF 700 and found no helicoils.

Exactly the same thing happened on my 500. I bought a similar heli coil kit and the repair took 5 minutes. Not had a problem since despite constantly attaching and removing a domiplate, baseplate and a table jig.

Never had to use them, but heli-coils are used when you strip the sparkplug threads on an engine head.  So you might find these at automotive parts stores like NAPA.  The threads that a heli-coil threads into are at a different angle than regular threads so it requires a special tap to cut those threads.  DON'T use a tap out of your bench top tap and die set.  The correct tap should say "HELICOIL"  However, maybe your threads are ok because I think helicoils can be backed out.  Hopefully yours just backed out by accident.

McMaster has kits and inserts,https://www.mcmaster.com/threaded-inserts/system-of-measurement~metric/thread-size~m5/

If the threads in the Domino are undamaged you should be able to just install an insert. I would probably use some red lock-tight on the insert as well, to make sure it doesn’t back out again. (sparingly)
You may want to check with Festool to see if it really is a heli-coil brand insert, since there are various similar threaded inserts on the market, I don’t know if they are interchangeable.
