I'm thinking of buying the impact drill during the 40% off sale. I would like to hear from  any owners of the drill about pros and cons. Would you purchase again? Also does anyone know if the batteries from this would work in my C15?
Thank you
Bill

I too have been thinking about buying the Ti15 off the recon sale. The batteries do interchange. The basic set comes in a systainer that will store the C15 and the Ti15 together. The basic set does not come with any batteries.

Just to verify, yes, any flat-pack battery (all with the exception of the CXS battery since 2006ish) of 15 volts or lower will work.

Yes your C15 battery's will work with the T15i. I use mine to drive 1/4x 2 1/4 hilti block wall anchors. In the 1 1/2 yrs I've owned the t15i I drive around 100 anchors a day on 1 battery and it never stumbles. Would buy again for sure!
I owned the c15 so I bought the t15i basic so I got the bigger systainer with room for c15 and attachments.

Cons- with attachment on to take it out of impact mode the drill starts to get bulky.
But I have a c15 for basic drill!

I bought the Ti-15 basic kit from the 40% off sale through Bob Marino. I've only used the tool this past weekend but I really like it. I didn't exactly torture test it but it certainly didn't seem to be lacking for power. I think if you own a T15 or a C15 it's easy to convince yourself to get the TI.  The basic systainer is really smartly designed.

Just bought one and based on my experience so far, would definitely buy one again. Since you already own the C15, I highly recommend getting the TI15 Basic.  It comes in a Sys 3 which will hold your C15 and TI 15 along with batteries, charger, and chucks. Yes, the batteries from your C15 will work in the TI15. All you need to buy are the appropriate impact bits.

I'm not sure I understand. If I buy the basic, the systainer is large enough to fit the Ti and my C15? What size systainer? I'm guessing the basic is just the tool and the systainer?

Yes, it's just the bare impact in a Sys 3, the foam insert has a place for the impact, a C or T series drill, charger, spare battery and accessories.

To clarify, the TI Basic comes in a Sys3.  It includes the drill/driver adapter (unnecessary since you own a C15), and a Centrotec bit holder.  The insert for the Sys3 is molded to accept your C15, eccentric chuck, right angle chuck, depth stop chuck and Centrotec chuck.  It's a great combination.

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards the set with extra batteries but I think you have convinced me to buy the basic for the extra storage.

With regard to the Ti 15 Basic sets in the recon sale, does anyone know the difference between these:

564526 Cordless Imp. Drill TI15 Basic
564358 Cordless Imp. Drill TI15 Basic in T-LOC Systainer

Could the first come in the classic Systainer?

I had considered that, but I don't think the Ti 15 was ever sold in a classic. In addition 564526 appears to be the current item number for the Basic set.

D'oh!

I completely missed that.  [doh]

Maybe someone else can chime in, but I believe they changed the number when they came out with the 4.2 amp hour batteries.  I have the 564358 version and the label on the T-loc says 3.0 which is kinda funny since there are no batteries that came with it.  According to Tom at Tool-Home, the drills should be the same.

I have 4 Festool drills including the TI15? My opinion is that it is a very good medium duty impact drill and a fair drill. My other drills are the C12, T15, and CSX. These 3 are excellent, especially the CSX.

I used the TI15 to drive 1 1/2 inch lag bolts into Ipe. Unless I predrilled the holes, the TI15 would break the lag bolts. It has incredible torque.

Supposedly, the 18v Quadrill PDC is coming out in 2015 for the US...I'm waiting for that one and gonna pass on the Ti15

Bonetto,

just picked up a Ti-15 to build a pergola (with solar panels on top!) for my "Jimmy Buffet Party Patio". Hoping to get to that next weekend. Will let you know how it goes.

Will need to drive lag bolts through 4x6 top beams, and Simpson lags into the SDS2.5 buckets.

I did buy the Ti 15. However i sprung for the 4.2 set. For a little more than $100 more i will get 2 batteries, charger and chucks.  Maybe in the future I will buy the Sys3 and insert to hold both drills.
Thanks aging for helping me spend my money.
