TI 15 Impact Drill Driver or a combi drill/driver & impact set

Without a doubt. But you have remember that with FESTOOL you get the tool plus othr benefits, what else do you get with Hilti or Panasonic? Both are very good but neither are perfect. FESTOOL appears to have moved this area forward and opened another 'class' of Impact driver. If not sure visit a dealer or arrange a meet up with the rep.

The problem for me is that I live on a Scottish island, so there is no option to go to a dealers and play with the drills.

Whats the deal with brushless motors? Does anyone know what the average lifespan is compared to a motor with brushes (or how often you'd have to change the brushes).

I'm not sure about the Festool Impact driver now, since I'm moving to Finland and it's new on the market if I have any problems with it could end up a big pain...

£450 still seems like loads for the 18v drill....but I suppose I felt the same before I bought my QF1400  [tongue]

In 25 years i have never needed a right angled chuck, if i did i would buy one, for what £25.. The once or twice a year i struggle i use a screwdriver instead..

Scotish island, wow!
Brushless motors - no brushes to wear out, short coil winding saves weight and less thermal build up, excellent track record, lighter than conventional motors, generates more power, extendes battery life, allows the tool to be shorter as motor is small - they are the future so get in now.

If moving to Finland then do not forget Finland is also a FESTOOL country and the service will be similiar

Performance of the T range is fantastic and they are built to last. The impact driver will be the same and a reliable edition. Remember it can be more then an impact.
When i can i wll!!!!!

I just watched this. Festool Cordless Drill Myth?  I would never do such a thing but it's good to know that it will stand up to the abuse that cordless drills tend to get. I think I might get the T 18 and get an impact driver later  [cool]

You need to remember that the TI15 removes the need to have two drivers. It is an impact  as well as a driver, so you have less to carry. In effect you get two machines for the price of one. Apart from that you may find that it is quicker to impact drive with the FESTOOL, then swap the chuck and drive in some screws, then fit an all purpose bit and drill a hole, can the panasonic do this?.
Manufacturers info is not standardised so the only way to see any diffrence is in a practical test. R.P.M is dependent on the user, the type of fixing, the density of material used and wear and tear.
The TI15 is the most versatile driver you are likely to see I.M.H.O

Yes but the Festool impact driver has the same torque as a bosch 10.8v impact driver. I would rather carry 2 Panasonics around. Its easier to pick up your second drill than it is to swap chucks and at Least they both have plenty of power... and they are cheaper...

Same torgue as the Bosch impact 10.8. Mate I very very very very very much doubt that dude.   Don't go on torque specs dude they mean nothing absolutely nothing.   The only possible way to know which drill has more torque is to do tests side by side screwing extremely large bolts or screws into wood.    Theses specs these companies put on the drills are never accurate.

So would you bet money that the Festool would compare to a Panasonic or Hilti impact driver?

John.

I dont know why your asking that question? I never said the Festool TI15 impact driver is better than the Panasonic or Hilit Impact driver.

I actually said BUY the Panasonic Impact driver (NOT Festool Ti15) and then BUY the Festool T18 drill then you will have the best drills available.

As I have not used the Festool TI15 yet so I can not comment on that driver for its power BUT what I can say is I would only use it as an impact driver as I dont like all the attachment needed for it to make it a drill.  IF IF it turns out the TI15 is a very good Impact driver then I would say     WAIT and hopefully Festool will bring out a T15 and a T18 set so you get the T18 drill and TI 18 Impact drill set.

Any way  all I was saying was about you comparing the torque from the 10.8v Bosch which  I should tell you IS EXTREMELY under powered drill.    The Bosch 10.8v is extremely under powered for its range their are many 10.8v drills with far more power.   Then lets talk about size!  The bosch LENGTH is the SAME length as the Festool T15  so the drill is the same size as the Festool just with a small crappy batterie which then makes it overall smaller but only  lasts 10 seconds!   So tell me why would you NOT buy the Festool over your Bosch 10.8v  as the Festool can get in smaller spaces than the Bosch and has 100x more power and the battery lasts 100x more than the bosch!

Back to the Torque your saying your Bosch Claims!   TORGUE SPEC on drills means NOTHING NOTHING!   A drill can claiming 20 torque and other can claiming 100 torque mains nothing 2 me!  The 20 torque drill can easily be more powerfull than the 100torque.  I think they should bring a law out and force companies to have a test which every company has to use so people can actually look at a drill spec and know that 50 torque means 50torque at the tip of the drill bit!

YEah watched that ages ago! Im just waiting for him to do another video saying his Festool drill has rusted up and stopped working!    I recon Festool Contacted him and said thanks for the Video we will send you a new drill and we will take that one from you to do some test  so that he wont do another video showing every one how its stopped working!  OR Festool went out and stole the drill when he was asleep! OR Festool got an assassinator!  [unsure] [unsure] lol

Go green. Obviously it comes down to personal opinion but with FESTOOL you get the warranty and the personal touch, do the big three do that? ....i think not.

As for Bosch, no idea.
