Ti15 stuck on impact

Hi all, my wonderful wife just got me the Ti15 impact driver/drill for Valentine's Day. I spent a few days breaking it in by building some lumber storage racks driving tons of screws in impact mode. Everything went great. But just this week I've been using the drill mode to punch holes through some studs in my garage to run wire and the drill is acting really odd.

First off, it would stop and beep (I think it's the "too much load" beep) fairly often. I'm drilling 3/4" holes and tried a spade bit first and ended up getting better results with a cheap forstner. For how powerful the drill's supposed to be, this seemed strange. Then it just started beeping and not spinning at all, even when the bit wasn't against wood. I pulled off the drill chuck and when I pulled the trigger the impact was firing. I slipped on the Centrotec just to see what happened and it's also firing the impact when just spinning in the air.

Did I do something idiotic? This is my first Festool (and impact driver) and I feel like I might have killed it like an oaf. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks much.

I don't have the Ti15 but there are plenty of people that have mentioned in drill mode it has far less torque than a regular cordless drill.  So, the poor results when drilling wood doesn't seem odd.  However, the beeping when not in contact with the wood is concerning, to some degree.  It is possible that the drill was misbehaving after being pushed harder than it likes to be used (in drill mode).  I'd try it again when it has had plenty of time to cool.  If things seem like they aren't right with Ti15 give Festool service a call on Monday and they will get you squared away quickly.

Thanks Brice, I did a more thorough search of the forum and found some of those cases. This morning I tried the drill and it's still hammering away on impact in thin air, so I think I'll give cs a call on Monday. Thanks for responding!

It seems like a few folks aren't too crazy about the hybrid nature of the drill. I'm using mine for some home remodel but mostly building furniture. Any recommendations as far as going with a straight drill in this case?

The ti15 is only really good for drilling up too half inch with sharp bits , I bought the t15 too do my drilling, but it shouldn't be stuck on impact mode,

Interesting that there isn't a spec sheet (at least on the US site) for the Ti15's torque in drill mode. I noticed the other T-series drills mention the max torque achievable in wood and steel, but there's no info for the Ti15. Brice noted that lots of folks have mentioned the sub-par drill capability, but is there any data out there to use for comparison?
