Quickly - for those who can recall, was the parallel edge guide (492636) at one point included as a standard accessory with the OF 1400 in the U.S. market? If so, when approximately did this practice stop - IOW when did it switch over to becoming an optional accessory)? Just curious.

Can't answer your question, but I know that different packages are available in different markets.

It looks like it from this -

I don't get the variation in versions (apart from voltage considerations) but I guess it is down to market demand.  My OF1400 came with a parallel guide but not with the gucci dust collection shroud underneath - why would I not want the same dust collection as available elsewhere?  But then, we don't get an 8mm collet.

Yes, as shown in the video, the edge guide at one time did come standard with the 1400 router - at least in the USA market, but I don't know which year it stopped being included in the "scope of delivery."

Using a time machine you can go back to the USA product page for the OF 1400 back as far as 17th March 2006.

Here is the page:https://web.archive.org/web/20060317141811/http://www.festoolusa.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProdID=574224&ID=4

At this point in time, the rail was not an included accessory, so sadly, the only conclusion we can be sure of is that if it was included, it was prior to that date.

[member=60844]Midnight Man[/member] - When I view the page that you linked to it shows that in 2006 the edge guide was included - it's the first accessory that appears in the bulleted list under the heading "Includes". I looked into the future and found that it was not included in 2007. So, it looks like 2006 was the last year it was included as a standard accessory. Very interesting! Thanks for the insight! :)

Wow - I must have had an attack of the dumbs - you're absolutely right!  I think I may have missed it because I was looking for the term "rail".

Great pick up, and thank you for correcting!
