what is you're opinion about the CTL 26 E... shall i buy the AE version? is only 80 eu more..

I bought it just recently and haven't had a real opportunity to use it yet. But suction is powerful and the noise is very acceptable. It does look like a step up from the old CTL22. As for the AC version, I don't know, never used it and don't know if it's worth the extra bucks. I guess it will come in handy when you use the vac heavily and in tough conditions, but I doubt it will be much added value for the average user.

I know I have used my CTL22 for the past 1,5 years with sawing/routing wood and sanding paint and the filters never clogged. I also used my CTL Mini heavily the last year with sanding wood, paint and drywall and the filters never had a spec of dust on them. Especially with drywall/plaster the bags would clog very quickly and you'd loose suction when the bags were only 1/4 full but the filters never were a problem.

I also want a domino DF 500 Q set, MFT 3, OF 2200 EB set, domino sys, Precisio CS50 and T12 + 3 Li 2,6 set. I'm thinking about buying this
scatterd (according to cash flow)haha, on marktplaats.nl

considering my last wishlist ordered. I just hung up the phone with the hardware store.. !!!! can't wait!!!

any tips on my already new wishlist?

Don't get the T12 but the T15. The price difference is minimal and the T15 is a lot stronger. Despite what Festool makes you think by calling it a T12 it's a 10.8 volt drill while the T15 is a 14.4 volt drill.

thanks Alex, so for a regular size drill I should get a T15? How about if I want a smaller size for maybe cabinetry?
Is a CXS a good option?

In general, I would get the accessories as the need arises.

My list of the 6 essential festools would read TS55, Domino, Rotex, MFT, OF 1400 router, CT dust extractor. I have others but these are the workhorses of the shop.

All the best and Welcome.

Thanks Richard,

these are the items I ordered:

Kapex KS 120 EB
TS-55 EBQ plus FS
PS-400 EBQ plus
CTL 26 E

D 36 HW - RS - plus            tradesman cleaningkit  incl. 36mm hose (sawing and routing)
SB - CT 26/36                     CT handle
FS sys/2                              FS acc. kit                   I know, I know, but i can get it new in shop for only 80.39 euro's

this is light, mobile and variable..

Thanks for all the advice everyone!!! Also for the warm welcom on FOG!!! [crying] [big grin] [big grin]

The CXS is a nice little drill but if i were you i would get the C12 first.  It really is a sweet drill.

Is a CXS a good option?

You said a T12 at first, and the T12 is just as big as the T15 so for size they make no difference. The cost difference is also just 30 euro, which is nothing for drills this expensive. If you can afford €606 for the T12 you can also afford €636 for the T15. The C12 or C15 are also options, if you like that type of handle. So the T12 and T15 are hardly different from each other, except in one very important field: power.

I find my T15 very light and small and can get into every spot I want. The nice thing with Festool's Centrotec system is that you can take the chucks off, so if you need to get into a really tight spot you can just drop the bit into the shaft of the drill itself. The angle and offset chucks are also a great help.

The CXS seems to be a nice drill too. I haven't used it yet other than fondling it in the store. But I've looked myself at all the possibilities in the 10.8 volt segment and I know that if I'm gonna get one myself I'd much rather get the really nice Makita combo of a drill and impact driver for only €200.

AH!!! makita???? ... no just kidding, i know you're right.. ill look into it..

do you happen to know if the sortainer is gonna get adapted to be a T-Loc version as well??

thnks for your advice about previous subject..

I never heard anything about that. And we here on the forum are probably the first to know besides Festool themselves. But it is possible that sooner or later they'll make something, I just don't know.

Why does a sortainer have to be adapted to a T-Loc version?
It has no lid to use the rotating front knob for. It only has some drawers that can slide horizontally.
Or only because the T-Locs looks nicer?

You can still place the sortainer to be locked underneath the T-Loc systainers.

Although I already have a lot of Festools yet I'am very jealous at your investment in new Festools.
Roughly half of my Festools came from Marktplaats as Alex also suggested to you.

I made a quick calculation of your investment and I concluded that you will invest around €11.285 (±$14.740).
I think every shop are willing to give a discount or at least one or two machines for free?

You will need several days or nights to learn all the inns and outs of the new machines, good luck with it.
By the way where do you live in Holland and what are you producing with these Festools?

HI neeleman,

I live in Den Helder,

Despite the fact that i just love a good tool, wood working is my hobby...Since I have
a lot of spare time because i'm a fire fighter i thought of investing a bit in tools so maybe
i can be a contracter (ZZP'r) when i'm off duty..

The tools I currently own (mostly Bosch Prof and Metabo) are worth about 3500 eu.  The festool investment is up to 3750..
I got a really good discount, and about 40% off on all accessories and i got it via via excl. tax [tongue]

On my latest wish list i got :
domino DF 500 Q set, MFT 3, LR 32-SYS, OF 2200 EB set, domino sys, Precisio CS50 and T15 + 3 Li 2,6 set
but i still need to do some saving for it, and purchases wil be along the way..  probably on MARKTPLAATS.NL

How about you? Where do you live, and what do you do with your festools?

Hi festooldude,

As you can see in my  profile I live in Rotterdam.
Since 12 years I live in a house from 1908 and have done a lot of things in that house. So it's mainly for a hobby.
It differs from making bathroom furniture in massive teak wood, a bookcase from massive walnut, making and assamble several window frames, etc. In that period I bought my first Festools and Metabo's. Subsequentely I replaced all the machines with Festool and Fein only machines.
The only Metabo left is a hamer drill, which is not available from Festool or Fein.
I stillhave a few items on the wish list (Rotex 150, RAS 115, second CT(L)22/26, Protool PDC 18).
For that reason I'am daily watching Marktplaats or the auction sites for the real bargains.

A discount on Festools?  How?  Where?

You really have to know your way around and not be afraid to get into dark alleys in shabby neighbourhoods after 12.  [wink]

Festool pricing works differently in different markets. The US has a different pricing structure to the UK, and the UK is different to The Netherlands, and the Netherlands is different to Germany....

Some countries allow discounts, some allow discounts on accessories but not tools, and some no discount at all [sad]

Thanks for the explanation.  Also, thanks for using the Wallace and Gromit avatar before.  I hadn't seen that show, and after seeing your avatar and seeing it mentioned on a video list, I decided to watch it.  Very cute and clever.

Is Germany cheaper than The Netherlands?

Not really. Technically it is, but everything is only 5 to 10 euro cheaper. Not worth the trouble. England on the other hand is quite a bit cheaper due to the pound conversion. Or at least it was, before England raised VAT quite a bit. Don't know how the price level compares now.
