Howdy everyone!

I recently decided to make something out of bolivian rosewood. I was originally going to make a desk but I needed an easy chair in the living room so I built one of those. The chair is kinda designed after a maple chair Maloof made back in the day. I of course added my own touches to the thing but it is still very much Maloofian in structure. I found out a very important thing about bolivian rosewood. even with all the dust extractors and whatnot in my shop I'm still super allergic to it. So I guess I can scratch getting hives off my bucket list.

Now I name all my chairs instead of numbering them (I'm all sentimental and whatnot like that) and this one I named after my wife's grandfather. The dude was a true craftsman. He built homes in the KC area and was the first contractor in KC to use a nail gun. Once he was giving us a tour of all the houses that he built and I must say I can't hold a candle to his quality of work. The man had a gift.

WOW!!!  Just WOW!!!  Your craftsmanship is apparent.  I have a sense that your wife's grandfather is smiling down on you.

Zack,

The beauty of the material is matched by your exquisite craftsmanship.  Tony is a true beauty.

If you can't hold a candle to your grandfathers gift, I would like to see some pics of his work.  Yours is absolutely beautiful.  I am sure he would be extremely pleased with the apple that did not fall very far from the tree.  Thank you for sharing this stunning work.  Bill
