Well my wife is working overseas this year and I am travelling to Rome with my teenage children to meet up with her for a couple of weeks during her mid tour break.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good tool shops in Rome or nearby which are worth a visit?

I would love to find a store that stocks Mafell tools that would be suitable to use in Australia if that is even possible but also interested in any quality hand tools or even small workshop items that aren't common down under.

Unfortunately Dr Google hasn't been that helpful so was hoping someone here has some suggestions, thanks in advance for any assistance.

Almost all of the Mafell dealers are webshops. It is going to be a challenge to find an actual store with Mafell stock on display. I have never seen one.

Thanks for the replies, looks like slim pickings for Mafell but hopefully there re some other outlets of interest ,am really interested in any tool shops not just Mafell. I would always like to see some Festool items but really doubt there is anything I would want that I don't already own.
I am a self employed builder and collect all sort of tools and jigs and I am very interested in items used in different parts of the world that maybe don't make it down under.
I am sure there are plenty of great craftsmen in Italy and at least some of them must live in Rome so keeping with that reasoning they would need to buy their gear somewhere.
Does anyone know if Italy/Rome have a big box DIY outlet?

Ferramenta Supermacado in the 8th just west of the Ponte Lungo or south of Re Roma metro is as close to a big box store in town as it gets.

Many neighborhoods have a Ferramenta which is a small hardware store packed to the rafters with stuff. Not setup for browsing though.  You tell the guy at the counter what you want/need and he digs around till he finds it.

If you're in the suburbs, Leroy Merlin is your ticket. They have a website and all the other trappings of a big operation.  One location is close to the airport.

Thanks for the info will try to get to those and hopefully find something a little bit different to make the trip worthwhile.
