I have been doing work on my house but all my tools are in the basement which gets tiring running up and down the stairs. Looking for suggestions on how members store their hand tools like chisels, square, etc. for easy transport.  I have doubles of most tool so keeping them in an organizer isn't a problem.

I put a basic household toolkit together in the one traditional mini-systainer I own.  It's pretty comprehensive for it's size, it fits in the junk drawer, and I can take it upstairs or to the basement all together in one box.  I didn't buy a single thing to fill the box, I just used duplicates of the tools I found myself running out to the (detached) shop for.  I'd say that the mini has what I need nine times out of ten.  Beyond that, I can grab my toolbelt from the shop, or go the next step up and bring the full toolbox systainers in.

Hi!

I do have a tool bag that goes basically everywhere I go. I keep it in my dressing room in the house when I don't use it. It will do a lot of stuff, not everything but quite a lot.

It evolved from this:

While everything from the first picture of my tool roll moved into the new bag, I added some more I wouldn't want to be without - and the Bag has a second compartment that came with a organizer box - I threw it out and replaced it (no joke) with a Tupperware box to gain a large compartment that is air & water tight.

The bag is from  Snap-On:https://store.snapon.com/Tote-Bags-Tote-Bag-with-removeable-Parts-Bin--P647226.aspx

Kind regards,
Oliver

Oliver; I like your set up. Where does the leather with the hammer loop come from. It looks like exactly what I have been searching for.  Chris

http://www.bestbelt.com/ You can buy most all of their stuff from Amazon if your local lumber yard doesn't carry it. Big Box stores do not sell Occidental Leather's goods.

I have a set of Oxylight framer bags and a Suspendavest from them, along with a couple pockets and a clip on hammer loop. Good stuff!

Old post, but per the OP I use a 5 gallon bucket with a tool holder, and wear a tool vest.

Hi Chris,

Peter beat me to it, he is absolutely correct, it's the 5-in-1 Toolholder from Occidental Leather.
If you look through the customer testimonials on their site, you'll find mine for the toolholder.

Their stuff is top notch!

Kind regards,
Oliver

Thanks for the info. Went to website and got a 4in1, which will be better for me. Thanks again  Chris
