Toolie tool replacement

In the context of ongoing product development, either because it was going to be superseded or because it became obviated. Or they weren't selling well.  ;D

Unless this is a case of seriously mistaken (on my part) identity, I believe the Toolie Tool was made for Festool by WIHA or is a copy of a WIHA tool.  Take a look at the WIHA on-line catalogue and you'll find a multi-tool that comes in a variety of configurations (Torx, Phillips, hex head, and etc.).  You might not find exactly the same tool configuration but you'll come close.  The ball hex heads in the Toolie Tool has a rubber band encircling the head that is a non-slip feature found in the WIHA tool line up.

Good luck.

Folks,

The last time I was at the Woodworkers Shop in Pekin, Il,  they had some.  I have bought from them in the past and they are good people.  They're address is  woodworkersshop.com  Hope this helps!

As I have learned to do with all small tools that I rely on, I have two Toolie tools.  This means that I can (almost) always find one of them.

I had two, sold one, and seldom use the other. It simply does not feel very strong, and I have always been afraid of torqueing the blades on stubborn fasteners.
Got some metal units similar from Sears - one SAE, one metric, one torx. Much stronger, and frankly more useful.

I recently bought one on Ebay from across the pond.  $35 shipped, received it a week and a half later no problem.

In Europe the Toolie is (again) available for only €27.
It was not available for a few years.

If they cancelled it for a while, and then offered it again; why haven't they improved it?

I have one, but I find it annoying that it doesn't have the 3mm allen key that is needed for fitting doorhandles and adjusting the mfs. And they could have added a bigger flat screwdriver that fits the rail coupling bars better.

The flat-head screwdriver on mine bent very easily. I do not think the metal is of a very high quality but I still find the toolie very useful.
