Ok do you guys go over the max wattage on the CT vacs, the instuction manual says not to go over 1200 W at vac plug socket where you plug tool into vac, this rules out using the TS 75, OF1400 and the OF 2000 in the auto mode on the vac as they all go over 1200 W, so you would have to power the tool and vac on too separate circuits if I'm reading this right. Is this correct ?

I use my CT22 regularly in combination with my CS70 saw (2200W), and my Kapex (1600W). So I went and checked the Dutch festool site, and I thought you were mistaken the wattage allowed to be connected, with the wattage consumed by the vac (350-1200W, depending on setting). Then I checked the manual, and it appears that there a different rules for a lot of countries. For most EU countries it's 2400W on the socket of the vac, for CH and DK: 1100W, for GB 220v: 1800W GB 110V: 500W!!, for AUS: 1200W. The rule for the US is 2400W connected load, so if the suction is set to max: 1200W at it's lowest:  2050W.

So to answer your question, I have never gone over the maximum wattage, but only due to my location: at home in Belgium, or at jobsites in Holland. I am no elektrician, but I would guess that if you know your wiring and breakers are up for the task, the vac could handle the higher wattage tools with suction turned to max.

To be on the safe side and to follow the manual, you could use different circuits for the tool and the vac, but you'd lose the remote trigger function, which seems unpractical.

Thanks, so if I connect the vac to 100' of 10 awg wire with tool plugged into vac on a 15 amp breaker I should not harm tool or vac ?

When I got my CT 22  I saw the same problem and I rang festool and they said it is just one of those german regulations dont worry about it and I haven't and nevver had a problem.
Those Crazy Germans ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Me too, I rang Festool last year when I saw the max 500w sticker on my midi vac and they just said its a German sticker that was left on and to ignore it.

Its been fine with my TS55 and I even use a 2300w Dewalt DW626 router on it with no problems so far.

I posted this in the (Contact Festool) section to see what Christain has to say.
