I've had a Tormek 2000 for quite a number of years now and am happy with the results it gives me. I have seen for a few years now a new grinding stone, the SB-250, black silicone. Does it sharpen the harder tool steels better or quicker or both? Is it worth the $200.00? Any one using this grinding stone I would appreciate any input. Thanks ahead of time, MARK

The SB-250, black Silicone Stone is made for sharpening harder steels & it can also touch up carbide blades.

DJ2720. I know what it says it will do but does anyone have it and does it live up to tormek's claims. I am using my original sharpening wheel to touch up molder head cutters. I do them flat on the side of the wheel but it is a slow go. Would the SB-250 do it faster? MARK

I have one for my T7. It is very hard and managed to sharpen the harder steels. It's slow though. It will handle the hardest of steels, but it will take some time. It does NOT speed up sharpening softer steels! I used it for one project then changed it out for the original again.
