I needed a sturdy dead flat assembly table that would hold a lot of weight for the kinds of items I fab. I decided on a torsion box design for the top and 4x4 legs with a full bottom shelf on 1200 pound casters. The table is 4x8 and the top can be screwed off and replaced with a fresh sheet of high-grade maple plywood. So far it can hold up 800 pounds with me standing on the top while sanding too. I am not sure the MFT table can do this but then again my table isn't portable in that it ever leaves the shop. I don't have to do road work....just woodworking after my software job is over for the day.

Just to give you a sense of wood strength.  My daughter built a balsa wood structure that weighed less than 10 grams that supported 585 lbs.
